MS-515: Frank A. Kiraly Aviation Postcard and Photo Collection 1 Biographical/Historical Note: Frank A. Kiraly (1914-2000) was an aviation enthusiast and a detective with the Cleveland Police. During the time period to which most of the collection materials date, Frank lived at 3492/3494 W. 117th Street in Cleveland (a duplex where other members of his family also lived); this address is stamped on the back of some of the photographs. He and wife Helen later lived in nearby Lakewood, Ohio.

Scope and Content:

The collection consists entirely of aviation postcards and photographs. The postcards, most of which depict airports throughout the , date between approximately 1911 and 1977. Postcards bearing a postmark but no other date information have been assigned a “circa” date of the postmark date. The photographs primarily depict famous aviators from the 1930s, including and .
