Online Programme Saturday ONLINE PROGRAMME SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2020 WIMBORNE TOWN FC VS CHESHAM UNITED From the Directors Box Good afternoon and a warm welcome to Cuthbury to our visitors from Chesham United F.C. We extend our hospitality to the visiting officials. players, staff and supporters and hope that you enjoy your time with us and have a safe journey home. We are once again allowed spectators into the ground but with stricter rules and guidelines in place than at the last home game. We must implement track and trace for every member of the public who enters the ground and the Clubhouse. Masks must be worn when entering the ground and whenever you are moving around inside the ground. Masks also must be worn inside the Clubhouse and only be removed once sat down. Please help us to keep a safe environment at the club so that everybody can enjoy their day here and we can all carry on enjoying watching football. On the football front we have had two positive results in the F.A. Cup and hope that we can carry on with a good cup run. Not such a great result for us at Tiverton where we suffered a 5-0 defeat. The boys played some good end to end football but unfortunately it just did not go our way. Today’s game is our first home game in the league and hope that after Tuesday’s Cup win it will have given the players a boost and with the support and backing of our great supporters it will spur them on to gain some points on the table. We hope that you enjoy today’s game. Stay safe, Stay well. • SATURDAY 31St OCTOBER Buildbase FA Trophy Rushall Olympic (A)
Good evening and a very warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Rushall Olympic, we do hope you enjoy your short stay with us before having a safe journey home. Rushall have made a solid start to this season’s campaign suffering only one defeat in their first 7 league games. A competitive club that are always in and around the playoffs, they will be looking to continue that form. Managed by former Barwell players, Liam Macdonald and Nick Green, they will have done their homework on us, so as ever we will be expecting a tough encounter. A well run club from top to bottom and in their second year with an artificial pitch the club is a good role model for non-league football. Both clubs know that this encounter between us will take place again at Rushall on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy, it’s ironic how these consecutive fixtures seem to happen. We finally got our first win against Nuneaton Borough, which has brought a lot of relief to all connected with the club. I’m sure that will bring a lot of confidence, let’s hope we can kick on from here and get back into the mix on the league front. Finally for tonight, I’m pleased to announce that Jason Ashby owner of UK Flooring Direct has agreed to extend his sponsorship for a further 3 years with the club. He has also made a five figure donation to our fundraising effort for our 3G pitch project. If you read this Jason, all of us at Barwell thank you for your commitment once again and wish you, your family and your business all the best for the future.

Main Sponsor Umbro is a British sportswear and football equipment supplier based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. The company is currently a subsidiary of Iconix Brand Group. Umbro designs, sources, and markets football-related apparel, footwear, and equipment. Its products are sold in over 90 countries worldwide. The company was founded by Harold Humphreys, along with his brother Wallace in a small workshop in Wilmslow, Cheshire, inspired by the growing interest in football witnessed nationwide. The name "Umbro" is a quasi-portmanteau inspired from Humphreys Brothers Clothing. Umbro's kit debut was in the 1934 FA Cup final, when both teams Manchester City and Portsmouth wore uniforms designed and manufactured by the company. Other teams supplied by Umbro during the 1930s and 1940s were Sheffield United, Preston North End, Manchester United and Blackpool. Umbro was the official sports manufacturer of the English FA Cup and official sponsor of The FA, being the exclusive supplier of balls to the body's leagues. In 1952, the British team at the Summer Olympics wore Umbro kits, tailored for the needs of their individual sports. Umbro would supply kits for the British Olympics team for the next 20 years. In 1957 Umbro entered the tennis market, producing sports clothing in collaboration with player Ted Tinling. This collaboration extended for three decades. Another sportsman who collaborated with Umbro was Manchester United manager Matt Busby, in 1959. That same year the company started to sell its junior boys' kits, a set of shirt, shorts and socks that would allow young players to wear the same look as their footballing idols.
