WEALDSTONE LADIES Sunday 27th January 2019 CAMDEN TOWN 0 - WEALDSTONE 3 atch conditions for the away fixture against Camden Town Ladies in Regents Park could hardly have been worse. The full four seasons were evident as thunder, lightning, high winds, sunshine and rain were capped with a delayed KO due to a MHail Storm. _FC WFC WEBSITE: Wealdstone ladies traveled with two players carrying injuries, no strikers and no recognised goalkeeper. It was going to be a tough day but the girls were more than ready to put two disappointing cup defeats behind them. When the weather passed and the match finally started Wealdstone battled for every ball from the very start. The first 30 minutes saw a couple of stopages due to the return of the weather but girls continued to work hard and created plenty of chances. A ball from Lisa De Castro found wealdstone Captain Catia Campos in just enough space for her to calmly put the ball in the back of the net and put the Stones 1-0 up at half time. Rain once again returned as the teams kicked off for the second half. It was end to end as chances went astray from both teams in the worsening conditions when Lisa finally picked up a ball from outside the box, turned and nut-meged Camden’s keeper to make it 2-0. With 10 minutes to go Catia got her second goal when she calmly rounded the keeper. Player of the Match went to Katie Harling for her excellent effort in helping to secure 3 points for @WealdstoneLFC1 A great performance by Imogen Raddon as she kept a clean sheet on her debut between the sticks. A sound defence from Giovanna, Holly, Nicole and Katie Currell proved too good for Camden Town. Natalie, Pauldy & Meghan also played their part in a great team effort.
