That is, the blueprint for Broadmeadow to become a world-class sporting, leisure and entertainment precinct that is diverse, vibrant, sustainable and commercially viable. I have been calling for this Masterplan since entering Parliament. The original plan, as frst drafted by the Labor NSW Government in November 2009, included proposals to relocate the Newcastle Harness Racing Club, build a new 10,000-seat entertainment centre, aquatic centre and multi-level carpark. Now eight years later, the Government has fnally revealed their new plans. We need to ensure that Newcastle gets the precinct we deserve.
