Grant Wood’s self portrait Today we are going to learn about the American artist Grant Wood. Grant Wood was born in Anamosa, Iowa, on February 13, 1891 and died on February 12, 1942. Have a look at his art below.
This painting is one of the most famous pieces of art in the world. It is called “American Gothic” . What do you think their jobs are? Did you guess a farmer? You are right! Grant Wood loved painting scenes from around his home in Iowa.Look at the other paintings I have included in the lesson. What do you see? More farms? What are these paintings called? Did you guess landscapes?
