Dear Sir,

Updated my comment for this Email.

My company, Quanta Computer Inc., is the biggest notebook and All-in-One PC suppliers, and provide notebook and AIO PC to the major ITE brands including HP, Acer, Apple, , , /IBM, , NEC. We’re responsible of more than 80% product design/validation activity including EnergyStar testing data.

There’re some ambiguity I need your support for further clarification…

Background: We have 7 in-house EnergyStar test lab in , and 2 in-house EnergyStar testing lab in China. All 9 laboratories are following ISO17025 requirements, but only 2 of 9 have ISO17025 accreditations.

1. Could overseas lab be accepted by EPA? e.g. Taiwan and China.

2. Please advise the list of EPA-recognized Accreditation Body (AB). I’d like to check if our ISO17025 reviewer are in the list.

3. For in-house test lab, is it required to get ISO17025 accreditation? Is it okay to provide the evidence and assessment to EPA and prove all in-house testing would be with sufficient controls and independent?

4. For further energy star approval process, if still need OPS submittal system in web-site for application? If yes, who will be owner to do submittal? EPA accredited body or EPA and AB accredited lab or product manufacturer?

Looking forward your feedback. Thank you very much.

What’s the meaning for “Inter-laboratory comparison list”? if I can understand, it means “in- house testing”? could you advice more detail for testing items, capability and so on?

Looking forward your feedback. Thank you very much.
