Skill Development-cum-Training Program on Cultivation, Primary Processing, and Quality Aspects of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants (Under CSIR-Aroma Mission Project, Phase-II – HCP 0007)

OBJECTIVE: 1. To enhance practical knowledge on improved cultivation techniques, varieties of economically important medicinal and aromatic crops like Lemongrass (Nimma gaddi), Palmarosa (Kasha gaddi), Vetiver (Vatti veru), Tulsi, , Senna, Aswagandha etc.

2. To demonstrate the nursery raising techniques, improved distillation and primary processing technologies, quality analysis, value addition, proper storage and utilization of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in various industries etc.

COURSE CONTENT:  Activities of CSIR-CIMAP  Medicinal and Aromatic Plants suitable for southern part of country.  Improved cultivation techniques of economically important Aromatic and Medicinal Plants with their economics.  Resources and logistics required for large scale cultivation of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants  Demonstration of nursery raising techniques of important Aromatic and Medicinal Plants.  Post-harvest processing techniques and various methods of distillation of aromatic plants.  Quality analysis of aromatic essential oils by GC  Proper storage of essential oils and medicinal herbs.  Marketing aspects of essential oils and global status.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: This Training Program would be useful for existing and new farmers, entrepreneurs, students, distillers, exporters/importers, perfumers, corporate houses for farming/contract farming and their processing with value addition. Participation certificate will be provided during valedictory function on 17th March 2021.

COURSE FEE: Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) per head. The fee includes day boarding only (morning tea, lunch and evening tea), technical course material etc. The fee is payable online to following bank account.
