THE HAMMER Justin Hamonic officially reached highs in goals, assists and points on Monday night. The 6’4, 210 lbs. defenseman has 15 points (2G, 13A) in 66 games. What may be more impres- sive is his 10 PIM, which is the lowest among players with 25+ games — despite playing a physical game. His even +/- rating is stronger than it may look, as Hamonic is tasked with shutting down the top opponents every night. The native also begins many of his shifts in the defensive zone, making his career highs in offensive production even more impressive. WESTERN CONFERENCE IT’S A POWER PLAY GOAL STANDINGS (WIN PCT) The Oilers have at least one power-play goal in their last three outings, with five total goals coming on the man advantage in the last two games. Two major contributors to the power 1. WICHITA (.667) play as of late have been Adam Pleskach and Robby Jackson. Jackson has three power-play 2. CITY (.493) The Thunder have been the best matchup for the Oilers so far this season. The Oilers have lost in regulation just once to the top-place team in the Western Conference, registering a 7-1-1-1 record against the Thunder in 2020-21. Tulsa is responsible for 27.8 percent of Wichita’s regulation losses and 30 percent of the Thunder’s losses in overtime. Wichita has the best penalty kill in the ECHL, and have only allowed three power-play goals against the Oilers this season, posting a 90.9 percent kill in the series.
