ASSAM (JORHAT –120 PAX)

Day – 1: 20.12.2014 : GUWAHATI RLY. STATION – JORHAT (310 Kms / 8 hrs.) Overnight Journey by BUS Meet and greet at Guwahati Railway Station at 1700 hrs and drive to Jorhat, En route dinner, overnight bus drive

Day -2: 21.12.2014 : ARRIVE AT JORHAT – Local village Tour & Trip to Majuli Centre for Arts & Culture ]20 kms from Jorhat] Arrive at Jorhat in morning around 06:00 hrs. Check in at hotel, after relaxation and breakfast proceed for Majuli [the largest river Island] by ferry with packed lunch. After village visit return to hotel for dinner & overnight stay at hotel. Recap of the hands on experience during the day to be documented in accordance with the project topic.

Day -3: 22.12.2014 : JORHAT - KAZIRANGA (115KMs/4 Hrs) After breakfast in hotel at Jorhat, drive to Kaziranga. Check in at Hotel followed by lunch. Afternoon proceed for Game Safari. Dinner & Overnight at Kaziranga. Special focus on the environmental concerns and the culture of the area. Recap of the hands on experience during the day to be documented in accordance with the project topic.

Day -4: 23.12.2014 : KAZIRANGA –SIVASAGAR [170 kms /5 hrs] After breakfast drive to Sivasagar at 0900 hrs, en route lunch. Upon arrival check into hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day -5: 24.12.2014 : SHIVSAGAR - TEZPUR (220Kms /7 Hrs). Overnight Journey by BUS After breakfast proceed for full day field visit of Shivsagar [Religious places & monuments of AHOM kings]. Focus on history & culture. Lunch & Dinner at hotel. Proceed to Tezpur by overnight bus drive.

Day -6: 25.12.2014 : In TEZPUR Local issues of tea-gardens, laborers etc. Upon arrival at hotel check in to hotel in the morning. After breakfast , proceed to visit Tea Gardens. Lunch en route, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day -7: 26.12.2014 : TEZPUR – SUALKOCHI [162 KMS] & further SUALKOCHI- – GUWAHATI [35 KMS] After breakfast excursion to Sualkuchi (Manchester of Assam – Silk village of Assam). Lunch en route, Later drive to Guwahati. Evening free for shopping. Dinner & Overnight at Guwahati.

Day -8: 27.12.2014 : Depart GUWAHATI After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Railway Station to board the train at 1100 hrs. Meeting Local people, NGOs & other voluntary organizations/ self help groups.
