is expected to reach 10 trillion yuan in 2020 and exceed 16 trillion yuan in 2030. At present, the hot words such as “health care +” medical treatment, tourism, entertainment, real estate, food, agriculture and ecology are regarded as the next economic growth point after the Internet economy and they are popular among the capitals. The health care blue book, an official government report, indicates that China has initially formed four regions of health care: -Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, the Delta and Sichuan-Chongqing. And the Yangtze River Delta covers , Zhejiang and provinces, centered by Shanghai. It has become a hotspot in the layout of health care industry by virtue of its strong economic strength, beautiful natural resources, convenient transportation and look-ahead awareness of public health consumption. In recent years, the health care industry in each region has developed and formed its own characteristics. For instance, Shanghai has built a relatively sound construction and system of health care, which is leading by serving the local people’s well-being and meeting the needs of health care consumption. Jiangsu Province has come of age due to home-based and community-based elderly care. Zhejiang and Anhui Province have the potential for the development of forest health care industry, indicated by the tourism projects such as ‘dreaming of Jiangnan’ in , Zhejiang, and ‘Wugui Gorge’ in Lu’an, Anhui, etc., and these tourism projects take health care as one of the main functions. However, in the context of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, there are still some problems such as insufficient linkage and interaction among regions, lack of in-depth integration connotation, insufficient types and quantity of health services on the supply side, especially the rare health care regional industrial clusters with innovation leading role. Therefore, we need to explore and grasp any opportunities today to better strengthen the interaction and cooperation among Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, to stimulate the coordinated development advantages of the health care industry, and to energize health care industry in the Yangtze River Delta.

2. Energizing Health Care Industry with Sports

People have realized the importance of doing sports for health due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Making use of natural resources through embedding sport elements can better drive the local economy. It may become the trend in the future. As showed in the case, the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine and other four departments announced the first batch of 96 National Forest Health bases, including ‘Tianzi Land’ in Tonglu, and ‘Longchuan Bay’ in , ‘Baiyun National Forest Park’ in and ‘Gridhrakuta Mountain’ in Kecheng District of . And mountaineering, hiking, cross-country running and other sports present the essential field in the development of forest tourism. In 2020, the State Affairs Office issued ‘the opinions on promoting national

The integration of sports and medicine into health care industry has also become a new development trend. According to statistics, at present, the number of cases in chronic diseases in China has reached 200 or 300 million, among which hypertension alone accounts for 266 million and 5 or 6 billion are regarded as its huge reserves. The main causes of death among people with chronic diseases include cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases. However, the influence of physical exercise in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases cannot be underestimated. It can be said that the integration of medicine, sports, health and nursing is the key to realize the national health management and monitoring. Taking both medical treatment and exercise intervention to prevent people from diseases and achieve the customized health care services with diversified, precise and innovative sports and medical service supply, which is the key to ‘health care +’ sports in the context of ‘Healthy China 2030’ initiative.

3.Taking the 19th Asian Games as an Opportunity to Energize the Integrated Development of Health Care in the Yangtze River Delta

Preparing for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022 is of great significance to promote the integrated development of health care industry in the Yangtze River Delta. With the benefit of the Asian Games, it is worthy of exploring and thinking on how to enhance the regional international influence, drive the urban consumer market and industrial upgrading, and further improve the urban residents’ sports living standard and health care awareness, so as to energize the health care industry. (1) Boost national fitness trend and health care needs With the approach of the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, ‘health’, ‘Sports’, and other relevant words have been discussing frequently and they are playing their own role of boosting the construction of ‘Healthy Zhejiang’ and even ‘Healthy Yangtze River Delta’. At the fifth session of the 13th National People’s Congress of Zhejiang Province, the efforts on accelerating preparations for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, improving the public fitness service system, and striving to build a “10-minute fitness circle” in urban communities were proposed in the government report. The purpose is to mobilize and guide the public to carry out a variety of sports and fitness activities to enhance the public awareness of health care. By organizing and carrying out various Asian Games theme activities or events, we will guide all sectors of the society and the public to understand and support the

health industry, thus stimulate the demand on health care in the Yangtze River Delta. (2) Creating a combination of sports and health care The Yangtze River Delta is rich in water resources due to its diverse ecosystem and surface coverage. It owns Mountain in Anhui; Putuo Mountain, Yandang Mountain, Mogan Mountain, and Mountain in Zhejiang; Taihu Lake, in Jiangsu, in Hangzhou, in , in ; Besides the vital rivers such as , Yangtze River, , Beijing-Hangzhou , it also owns water systems such as Qinhuai River in Jiangsu and Cao’e River in Zhejiang. Moreover, there are abundant resources of gardens and ancient towns, for instance, Suzhou Gardens, Wuzhen and Zhouzhuang. Therefore, by creating a national health movement trend, giving full play to the comprehensive effect of the Asian Games, relying on the topography of the Yangtze River Delta such as mountains, valleys and water systems, we can develop various outdoor health care projects such as mountaineering, camping, X-sports, hiking, and build a health care town of sports and leisure based on gardens and ancient towns, so as to promote the great integration and development of various business forms such as tourism, fitness and other sports events, which may create a distinctive combination of sports and health care in the Yangtze River Delta. (3) Facilitating the development of the integrated health care industry with medical and sports The hosting of the Asian Games 2022 will undoubtedly stimulate the demand for the integrated health care industry with medical and sports. For example, in 2020, the government of Yangpu District in Shanghai and Shanghai Institute of Physical Education jointly launched the project of ‘Community Health Therapist’. It offers offline courses of ‘martial arts exercise and physique restoration’, ‘fall prevention of the elderly’ and ‘physical and mental health in dancing’ and online courses via WeChat official account, as well as provides one-stop service for residents such as physical fitness test, fitness guidance, exercise prescription, etc. And residents could be active in sports ascribing to a scientific basis of their own physical status. In the field of sports therapy, it is no longer just the ‘privilege’ of athletes. Taking Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province as an example, as early as 2015, Hangzhou citizens could go to medical institutions to ask professional doctors to issue personalized ‘exercise prescription’ to scientifically guide their exercise and health activities, and reasonably adjust the level of daily exercise. Nowadays, not only more and more private medical institutions specialized in sports injury are emerging, but also comprehensive hospitals have set up sports injury and rehabilitation departments. In the future, It is believed that with the effect of the Asian Games, more residents will need and enjoy professional exercise prescription and therapy. Additionally, Hangzhou and Shanghai, called ‘Internet City’ and

‘Financial City’ respectively, can play a leading role in building the Health Care Cloud Platform which provides a new generation of information technology of managing and monitoring big data of residents’ health.

4. Suggestions

Health care industry has received much concern since emerging, as it covers health, pension, medical, tourism, sports, culture, agriculture and many other fields, and it serves groups including healthy people, the elderly, the disabled, athletes, patients with chronic diseases and others who are in the whole life cycle. Yangtze River Delta is an important economic, scientific and cultural convergence area in China, so it is of great practical significance to accelerate the integrated development of health care industry. The Asian Games is the largest comprehensive Games in Asia and is held every four years. We should grasp and give full play to the comprehensive effect of the Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022, by making use of policy support, media publicity and public response to shape the health care trend in the Yangtze River Delta. Global resources are expected to be integrated so that actively introduce international advanced medical institutions, technologies and brands, driving the development of biomedicine and high-end medical and health services. The leapfrog integration of the health care industry and other industries represented by sports will energize the development of integrated health care industry in the Yangtze River Delta in China.
