He earned a full-ride schol- arship to play NCAA Division I basketball at East Carolina University, where he was a three-year starter. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from ECU in psychology, then went to North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham for his law degree. Meadows returned to Omaha in 2008 to run a nonpartisan drive that registered more than 10,000 new voters in the eastern part of the city prior to the 2008 presidential election.
