JON WOOD Director Of Photography/Camera Operator
I have been a DOP since 1996, prior to this I was a freelance clapper loader working on commercials and feature films where I trained under Ronnie Taylor BSC and Howard Atherton BSC. As a DOP my work has ranged from feature films such as Shaun Of The Dead, comedy shows such as The Mighty Boosh to documentary series such as Monarchy and Imagine. I have worked for a diverse range of clients including the BBC, ITV , C4 , Discovery Channel, Warner Bros, Columbia Pictures and many of the major independants . I have gained extensive experience filming all over the world on all formats from HD to 35mm. I also have considerable experience with green screen photography, motion control photography, hot head crane operation, Tyler mount helicopter work and lighting for multi camera productions. I am also a guest film production lecturer at several Universities. In addition to my work as a DOP, I write articles on cinema technolgy for Cinema Technology Magazine. I also hold a U.S. ‘I’ Visa, which is valid until 2016. I was BAFTA shortlisted in 2012 for Dam Busters: Race To Smash The Dams and in 2003 for Hitler’s Britain.
