You will always harvest what you plant. 2 Corinthians 5:16,17 (14) 16 (TPT) So then, from now on, we have a new perspective that refuses to evaluate people merely by their outward appearances. For that’s how we once viewed the Anointed One, but no longer do we see him with limited human insight. 17 (VOICE) Therefore, if anyone is united with the Anointed One, that person is a new creation. The old life is gone— and see—a new life has begun! SECTION 4 Psalm 56:4,13 (15) 4 (VOICE) In God—whose word I praise—in God I place my trust. • THE ISSUE of REBAPTISM at Issue Is How We Are to Understand the Purpose of Baptism As Well As the Mode of Baptism
THE ISSUE OF REBAPTISM At issue is how we are to understand the purpose of baptism as well as the mode of baptism. If baptism if for the purpose of receiving forgiveness from God for past sins, then one does not have salvation prior to baptism - because salvation cannot be granted us while we are still in our sinful state. If baptism is not for the purpose of receiving forgiveness for past sins, then it is not essential to salvation because our sinful state was changed prior to baptism. In this case, baptism is understood as a required rite, but one that only "testifies" to the forgiveness, acceptance, that God has already granted us. One key text in this discussion (but not the only one) is Acts 2:38. Below are several English translation renderings of this text. King James Version - "for the remission of sins. American Standard Version - "unto the remission of sins. New King James Version - "for the remission of sins." New International Version - "for the forgiveness of your sins." Revised Standard Version - "for the forgiveness of your sins." New Revised Standard Version - "so that your sins may be forgiven." New American Standard Bible - " for the forgiveness of your sins." World English Bible - "for the forgiveness of sins." Bible in Basic English - "for the forgiveness of your sins." Contemporary English Version - "so that your sins will be forgiven." Good News Bible - "so that your sins will be forgiven." God's Word - "so that your sins will be forgiven." Young's Literal Translation - "to remission of sins." Modern King James Version

  • The Rapture Debate Jesus Was Born in a Small Village
The Rapture Debate Jesus was born in a small village outside of Jesusalem called Bethlehem, presumambly the son of Mary and Joseph who themselves were descendants of King David. The ancient Hebrew prophets had long before written many things concerning Jesus. Hundreds of specific statements are found throughout the Hebrew scriptures that speak with clarity and authority hundreds of years before His birth. Soon after birth, Jesus lived for a short time in Egypt and then most of His life in northern Israel in the hill country of Galilee. At about thirty years of age, Jesus began a public ministry mostly in the area around the Sea of Galilee with an occasional appearance in Jerusalem and elsewhere. Around Him was gathered a close group of 12 men while many others often flocked to be near Him as well. These early seekers listened to words of wisdom, instruction in righteousness (often not the typical traditional line) and were witness to countless miracles of healings, casting out demons, and even raising of the dead. He taught both privately and out in the open, even teaching in the Hebrew Synagogues. Often, Jesus was found in conflict with religious authorities, especially when He traveled to Jerusalem. Despite a constant display of kindness, love, and compassion, Jesus was accused of many things; violating the Sabbath, organizing rebellion against Rome and repeatedly claiming that God was His Father (blasphemy). The establishment would have none of it though many regular folks thought otherwise. To them, this just might be the long- awaited Messiah, the king so clearly written of by the prophets.

  • Bible New Testament George Lamsa Translation of the Peshitta
PASCAS FOUNDATION (Aust) Ltd Em: [email protected] ABN 23 133 271 593 Em: [email protected] Pascas Foundation is a not for profit organisation Queensland, Australia www.pascasworldcare.com www.pascashealth.com 2 Lamsa Bible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamsa_Bible The Holy Bible from Ancient Eastern Manuscripts (commonly called the Lamsa Bible) was published by George M. Lamsa in 1933. It was derived, both Old and New Testaments, from the Syriac Peshitta, the Bible used by the Assyrian Church of the East and other Syriac Christian traditions. Lamsa, following the tradition of his church, claimed the originality of the Aramaic New Testament, against the academic mainstream opinion that the language of the New Testament was Greek, and thus claimed his translation was superior to texts based on later Greek manuscripts. Consequently, Lamsa claimed that the New Testament of his translation was based on older sources than other English Bibles, translated from Greek. The New Testament translators of the King James Version, for example, used an edition of Erasmus' Greek Textus Receptus. The Aramaic primacy of the New Testament text is considered by its proponents to be more accurate than the text used for the KJV of the Holy Bible. Dr George M. Lamsa (Syriac: ܐ ܓܪܓ) (August 5, 1892 – September 22, 1975) was an Assyrian author. He was born in Mar Bishu in what is now the extreme east of Turkey. A native Aramaic speaker, he translated the Aramaic Peshitta (literally "straight, simple") Old and New Testaments into English. • Bible Chart with Grade Levels
Bible Chart with Grade Levels Preface: I have been meaning to do a chart like this for some time; the problem being is, I don’t really know how to judge reading levels. However, I have thought about subdividing the translations for the exegetical study of each chapter of the Bible and adding in another category of easy-to-read translations. In order to do that, I needed to know which translations were easy-to-read. This resulted in the following chart, culled mostly from elsewhere, with the credit given at the bottom of the chart. • The Life of GEORGE M. LAMSA Translator
THE HOLY BIBLE As translated by Dr. George M. Lamsa This outstanding work is a direct translation from the Peshitta, which is the ancient biblical manuscript written in Aramaic. This was the translator's native language and the language spoken by Jesus and His disciples. Twenty-five years were required to complete this translation. The Four Gospels were com pleted first and published in 1933, followed by the New Testament in 1940 and finally the entire Bible in 1957. Translating from the ancient Aramaic manuscript directly into modern English enabled the author to rectify many distortions of meaning occurring in the King James text. Since the phraseology of one language is frequently not duplicated in another errors in trans lation occur. The King James version came through a series of four languages, Aramaic to Greek, Greek to Latin, and Latin to English. During this transition these languages themselves changed. Modern Greek is nothing like third century Greek. Modern English is nothing like the thirteenth century English of Wycliffe. Latin is a dead language. The fact that there are not more errors in the King James version is a testimony to the dedication and inspiration of the many scholars responsible through the centuries for the evolution of this text. ■\* * y*. The Lamsa translation of the Holy Bible and other books py Dr. Lamsa described on the inside back cover are available in many libraries, the larger book stores or may be purchased from the Aramaic Bible Society. • Do the 66 Books Really Measure Up?
do the 66 books really measure up? Most Christian articles of faith assert that the 66 books of the Bible represent the Word of GOD1, at least in the original versions. I do not agree. I have found the number of Authoritative books - those with a perfect alignment befitting of GOD - to be fewer. Ancient scribes and modern translators are not the topic. The fact is that GOD the FATHER is Perfect, and HIS Word is Perfect. We are dangerously wrong to be ascribing to HIS Perfection or that of YESU (JESUS) or the HOLY SPIRIT anything that is demonstrably not perfect. Among the 66 books are original inconsistencies that prevent me from describing the collection as HIS Word. GOD does not make erroneous statements. GOD does not contradict HIMSELF. My answer is “No, not all of the 66 books measure up to HIS standard of Perfection - there is subtracting to be done.” I hope this study will help you see more clearly the difference between what FATHER really said and doctrines that are founded upon lesser writings. Dare we insult GOD by following human traditions? Men have elevated imperfect writings as HIS Word! A tradition from 1546 adds still more books as sacred with anyone opposing them declared anathema (accursed)!2 The doctrines of men unsurprisingly conflict with one another today. I do not expect the problems I make note of here to disturb your faith in GOD but only what part of your faith you’ve unduly placed in men and their traditions. My hope is that you will rely upon the HOLY SPIRIT, our TEACHER, and walk away from soiled doctrines of men who would not listen to HIM.
