Police Direct Line 0845 60 60 247 Update on Hemingbrough Waste Water Treatment Works A meeting was held with Yorkshire Water, members of the Parish Council and members of the Hemingbrough Action Group on 17th September. Overall the work on site is progressing on schedule, with the kiosk and filters now in place and the piling complete. The electrical supply and panels are currently being installed.. There has been a slight delay in the delivery of the humus tanks which means extending the application to keep the temporary road in place into early December. This has the added benefit of keeping traffic away from Main Street and Landing Lane for longer than originally anticipated. Works are still on track to be fully operational before the end of March 2010. At the meeting, discussions took place to consider the possibility of holding an open day once the works have been completed, to allow local residents the chance to look around the works and see how they will operate in practice. The Parish Council will inform residents when this date is set. Dog Fouling Once again a dog leaflet has been reproduced by Hemingbrough Parish Council and distributed throughout the village. Residents suggested that a bin be placed to the south of the Old ways. This was agreed and the bin is now in place. The cost of the bin which Selby District Council provide and fit was £214 this includes the regular maintenance of emptying the bin. It is noticeable that dog mess has been significantly reduced, however there have been several reports of dog mess on the junction of St Mary’s and School Road. Thanks to all residents who remove dog faeces from paths and walkways and help to keep the village free from dog mess. Village Design Statement A group of residents working with Mr A McMillan, Senior Development Policy Officer at Selby District Council have now put this document together. A small number of copies are available from the Parish Clerk or you can view this on the village website www .hemingbroughparishcouncil.co.uk on the Village Design Statement Page.
