Football of today is not a carefree game but big business" - A study of Swedish leading football journals view of the Swedish national football team and the professionalization 1958-2015 In this study we’ve followed the Swedish national team in football from 1958, nine years before the removal of the Swedish amateurisms, throughout the professionalism until 2015. The purpose has been too look at the leading football and sports journals to compare the view of the Swedish national teams in football during the world cup years of 1958, 1974, 1994 and the qualification too the UEFA Euro 2016 which was played in 2015. We have also looked into the view of the professionalization of Swedish football which has turned into a more international professionalization during the last twenty years. The football and sports journals we’ve study is Idrottsbladet (1958 & 1974), Svensk fotbolltidning (1974 & 1994), Goal (1994 & 2015) and Offside (2015). We have an analysis with focus on the professionalisms progress. The analysis is based on three views, philosophy, organization and economics. The philosophy has changed from being a game too become a spectacle, the organization has gone from volunteering too wage work and professionalism too interacting agents. In the economics football has gone from having its focus on the results of the sport to the result of the profit, to being about money by spectacle. -
CSR in Swedish Football
CSR in Swedish football A multiple case study of four clubs in Allsvenskan By: Lina Nilsson 2018-10-09 Supervisors: Marcus Box, Lars Vigerland and Erik Borg Södertörn University | School of Social Sciences Master Thesis 30 Credits Business Administration | Spring term 2018 ABSTRACT The question of companies’ social responsibility taking, called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been widely debated in research since the 1900s. However, the research connecting CSR to sport was not started until the beginning of the 2000s, meaning that there are still many gaps in sport research that has to be filled. One such gap is research on CSR in a Swedish football context. Accordingly, the purpose of the study was firstly to examine how and why Swedish football clubs – organised as non-profit associations or sports corporations – work with CSR, and secondly whether or not there was a difference in the CSR work of the two organisational forms. A multiple case study of four clubs in Allsvenskan was carried out, examining the CSR work – meaning the CSR concept and activities, the motives for engaging in CSR and the role of the stakeholders – in detail. In addition, the CSR actions of all clubs of Allsvenskan were briefly investigated. The findings of the study showed that the four clubs of the multiple case study had focused their CSR concepts in different directions and performed different activities. As a consequence, they had developed different competences and competitive advantages. Furthermore, the findings suggested that the motives for engaging in CSR were a social agenda, pressure from stakeholders and financial motives. -

ENGLAND - SWEDEN MATCH PRESS KIT Gamla Ullevi, Gothenburg Friday 26 June 2009 - 18.00CET (18.00 local time) Matchday 4 - Semi-finals Contents 1 - Match background 6 - Head coach 2 - Team facts 7 - Competition facts 3 - Squad list 8 - Competition information 4 - Group statistics 9 - Tournament schedule 5 - Match officials 10 - Legend Match background Both England and Sweden will be attempting to end a long wait for international success when they meet in Gothenburg in the first semi-final of the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. • England claimed the last of their two U21 titles 25 years ago, defeating Spain 3-0 on aggregate over two legs in the 1984 final. The years since have largely been barren, with no title at any since a side including Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Sol Campbell and Robbie Fowler triumphed on home soil in the European U18 Championship in 1993. This time round hopes are high following wins against Finland (2-1) and Spain (2-0), coupled with a 1-1 draw against Germany, taking Stuart Pearce's side through as Group B winners to face Sweden. They will hope to fare better than two years ago when they went out to the Dutch hosts after a 32-penalty shoot-out. • Sweden, meanwhile, have never won a UEFA men's competition, losing to Italy 2-1 on aggregate over two legs off the 1992 U21 final. The Scandinavian side last reached this stage five years ago, losing on penalties to Serbia and Montenegro in Oberhausen after a 1-1 draw. A measure of revenge was exacted on Matchday 3 of this competition, a 3-1 win against Serbia in Malmo taking the hosts into the last four as Group A runners-up following a 5-1 win against Belarus and 2-1 defeat by Italy. -

En interkulturell studie om individualisters socialisering inom lagidrotten och skolans idrottsämne. Författare: Alma Rojas Johansson och Emelie Nixon Handledare: Christina Rodell Olgac Examinator: Kenneth Awebro Abstract Our starting point has been to use the football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a model person for individualism that seams to break the ordinary socialization pattern in Sweden. The purpose of this study is to examine how the team leaders handle the socialization of more individualistic focused individuals/young persons into groups, since the Swedish School Curriculum is designed to meet each individual on his or hers former experiences. Is the socialization of individuals within team sports affected by their cultural background? And, in that case, should those facts have consequences for the sport subject at school? Those are the questions we want to explore. Besides a survey of documents, we have been seeking answers to our questions through interviews with the team leaders Roland Nilsson and Peter Bergander, the pedagogues/teachers Karin Jutterström and Håkan Jensgård and the professional football player Abgar Barson. Our study shows that the leaders and teachers of today have begun to change their view about individualists. Further, our study shows that young persons with other ethnic origin/foreign background that choose their own ways can be disqualified by a national view that is different from the perception of the ethnic Swedish, when they break the unwritten and unspoken rules and standards. -
