EU4Climate will assist the EaP countries with identifying bankable mitigation projects, and mobilize financing for the implementation of such activities. Specifically, trainings for financial institutions and climate investment pipelines contributing for implementation of nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) will be delivered for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova. Considering an outcome of at least 8 projects for each country, with annual emissions reduction potential of 20 thousand tons of CO2, the climate investment component of EU4Climate shall deliver an estimated additional reduction of 640 thousand tons of CO2. The combined annual emissions reductions effect of the project (result of both NDC update work and climate investment efforts) is estimated at 1808 thousand tons of CO2. EUWI - World water monitoring day on 18 September 2019: Armenian schoolchildren took up the challenge!

World water monitoring day on 18 September 2019: Armenian schoolchildren take up the challenge! This summer, around 350 schoolchildren from the Sevan and River Basin communities used special kits to carry out basic monitoring of local waterbodies. The activity followed a series of green events organised in Armenia aimed at raising awareness on water protection. The results of this summer campaign was presented during World Water Monitoring Day on 18 September 2019 in Harsnaqar Hotel in the Sevan Basin. The schoolchildren then entered their data online into the World Water Monitoring Day’s international database. All of these measurements are part of water monitoring activities to help reach a good status of water resources. Organised by EU Water Initiative + (EUWI+) and its partner Country Water Partnership Armenia (CWP), these activities empowered young people to identify and solved water challenges by taking action in their own communities. EUWI+ Facebook announcement EU4Environment

EU4Environment is a new regional action (EUR 19.5 million EU contribution) that aims to help six Eastern Partner countries to preserve and better use their natural capital, increase people's environmental well-being and stimulate economic growth. Five international organisations – OECD, UNECE, UN Environment, UNIDO, and the World Bank are EU4Environment's implementing partners. Working in partnership proved to be effective. EU4Environment will also work closely with other projects. EU4Environment aims to strengthen capacity for preventing environmental damage and making law work. Promoting sustainable forest management and better management of protected areas will also be part of the programme. We count to work more on awareness raising and education and promote public engagement. We will also look at how green transformation could be fair and reduce inequalities. 3.
