“ One Day Through the Rosary and Scapular, I Will Save the World” “ ONE DAY THROUGH THE ROSARY AND SCAPULAR, I WILL SAVE THE WORLD”. Words of our Blessed Lady to St Simon Stock in 1251; “Make Way for Mary “ my friends and Her beautiful promise and though made over 765 years ago, it is as new and vibrant with Hope as when it was first given. “ MAKE WAY FOR MARY “ By Philip Illsley. [email protected] www.holyishisname.co.uk All this came about when an elderly man, the Prophet Elias ; Saw a cloud that rose up out of the sea. We may remember him in our Bible History as “The Man of Fire” Yes he called on Heaven for justice and fire came down from the clouds. The crops were drying up but when he prayed the rain fell; At his command even the dead came back to life, and last but not least he was taken up to Heaven in a fiery chariot and will come again to help us fight the Antichrist. This little cloud that Elias first saw; was about the size and shape of a mans foot, but gradually it seemed to cover most of the heavens. In it Elais, saw the heal of a foot, which to him was symbolic, as he recalled the words of the Bible, “ The Heal of the Woman shall crush the head of the serpent” and it was especially significant to him as the cloud became the Image of the Immaculate Conception. This vision inspired such a deep love in the heart of Elias; such a burning love, that he conceived the idea of founding a Religious Order of Men who would imitate the virtues of Mary. As a group of hermits they lived on Mount Carmel, here they erected a chapel in Marys honour, and from this small group of men a huge Carmelite order of priests have spread throughout the entire world. This order continued to grow and then a most saintly man, Simon Stock joined them. It was during his time in the twelfth century that Simon Stock who was now General of the Order, knelt down and humbly asked the Queen of Carmel to give him a sign from Heaven, to prove their identity as true descendants of the Order of Carmel as founded by the Prophet Elias. Our Lady heard his prayer, appeared to him holding the Infant Jesus in Her arms, and with the Scapular of their order in Her hand said; “ Receive My Beloved son “ the Scapular of thy Order as the Distinctive Sign of my Confraternity. Whosever dies invested with this Scapular shall be preserved from the Eternal Flames, It is a Sign of Salvation, a sure safeguard in danger, a pledge of peace, and of My Special Protection until the end of the Ages. Fortunately for all of us my friends, this wonderful promise from the Queen of Heaven, was not only for them, but for all the people everywhere until the end of time. In other words those who wear this Scapular Her Scapular, are assured of Her solicitude, and Protection, from all harm in this life, and in fulfilling her requests Our Salvation for all Eternity! She has placed the Scapular about our necks to remind us that we have a Mother in Heaven waiting, and loving us more than our earthly could love us. My Friends I Have Scapulars Hand made by the Carmelite Sisters in the Carmelite Convent in Darlington THEY are Completely FREE ( In The UK) – to all who will promise to wear them and be enrolled by your local priest ( The Rite of Enrolment Form enclosed ) and say the morning Offering of reparation ( And Kiss Your Brown Scapular ) and the 5 Decades of the Rosary Daily. Our Blessed Mother in Her most Generous and Loving Heart Gave another wonderful promise to Pope John XX11 She said “ Those who have been invested with this HOLY HABIT will be delivered from Purgatory on the First Saturday after their death. What a wonderful promise from The Mother of All Mothers; She will protect us all, comfort us in our sorrows, assist us in our last agony and deliver us from Purgatory on the First Saturday after our death from the sufferings of Purgatory those purifying flames that never go out. TRULY THIS IS SO MUCH MY FRIENDS ! FOR SO VERY LITTLE ! And Pope Benedict XV He granted 500 hundred days indulgence just for Kissing your Brown Scapular Every time it is Kissed! MORNING OFFERING OF REPERATION: O Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary ( Kiss Your brown Scapular ) And in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, being offered throughout the world today, I offer You all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings, of this day in reparation for the offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for my sins, and the sins, of the whole world. Amen Fiat. ( say this prayer daily and 5 decades of the Rosary for great graces ) “ O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” In the end My Immaculate Heart will Triumph; RUSSIA Will be converted and there will be Peace. ) MAKE WAY FOR MARY ; My friends at Fatima; She added a tremendous promise referred to as THE FIVE FIRST SATURDAYS ! I promise she said, to help at the hour of death with the graces needed for Salvation, whoever on the First Saturday of five consecutive months shall: 1) Confess and receive Communion 2) Recite five decades of the Rosary 3) Keep me company for 15 minutes while meditating on the 20 mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation to me . MAKE WAY FOR MARY; My Friends She has taught us the GREAT VALUE of the Scapular, especially when we use it as a Prayer, holding it in our hands, it draws us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Her Son, our prayer uttered in this way whilst holding the Mystical Scapular is as perfect as Prayer can be. This is especially powerful in this TIME of HEADLONG RUSH into DESTRUCTION and EVIL. These times need the very Powerful intercession of Our Mother. LIVE THE ROSARY; Say it daily and with the Rosary and Scapular Go forward with confidence and defeat Satan and all his Evil --- The Evil spirits are Utterly powerless against the Scapular and Rosary --- Virgin Most Powerful – Loving Helper of the Christian People over Many centuries, how great is the thanks we owe To YOU for helping our forefathers from the invading Turkish infidels which threatened Europe YOU came to deliver them. – Come also now to us again Mother to deliver us as Europe is threatened once again as YOU foretold at Garabandal in 1961 -- The Tribulation of Communism led By Russia. We have been given many weapons from Heaven – and the Rosary is our most powerful weapon against the coming foretold Evil. I pray and Hope Mother that people will NOW listen to your words & Warnings from Heaven. TAKE TIME TO PRAY --- It is the GREATEST POWER ON EARTH. TAKE TIME TO DO CHARITY—It is the Key To HEAVEN. TAKE TIME TO LOVE --- One another It is a GOD Given PRIVILEGE. TAKE TIME FOR GOD – This is the source of All Power and Love. MAKE TIME FOR MARY – She is the one who will crush the serpents HEAD! • The Brown Scapular Is an Old Carmelite Tradition That Found New Life in the Early 20Th Century with the Fatima Apparitions
The Brown Scapular is an old Carmelite tradition that found new life in the early 20th Century with the Fatima Apparitions. Recently, it has become popular again as Catholics look for some intimate sign to remind them of their commitment to the Faith. On July 16, 1251, in the town of Aylesford in England, Our Lady appeared to a Carmelite priest named, St. Simon Stock. She handed him a brown woolen scapular and said, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this garment shall not suffer eternal fire.” Later, the Church extended this privilege to all who wish to be invested and perpetually wear it as a sign of membership in the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular. The tradition expanded to include the Sabbatine Privilege, in which there is a pious legend of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel promising to shorten one’s stay in purgatory if one should pass from this world still owing some debt of punishment. It is said she will retrieve one’s soul from purgatory on the Saturday after death. The promise is not mere legend but based on certain conditions that must be fulfilled which, if devoutly observed, will assist one in religious and spiritual perfection: 1. One must be invested in the Brown Scapular by a priest according to the Roman Ritual and wear it continuously. (Once a priest invests one with the Brown Scapular, it is not necessary to have replacement scapulars blessed.) 2. Observe chastity according to one’s state in life (married/single).

THE LEGEND OF ST SIMON STOCK AND THE SCAPULAR DEVOTION From the first to the second naïveté Paul Ricoeur (d. 2005) “first naïveté” wonder critical reflection rejection; or “second naïveté” a new wonder an example: the creation story in Genesis First naïveté: The traditional story Simon Stock, 1165-1265 At 12 he began to live as a hermit in the hollow trunk of an oak, became an itinerant preacher, entered the Carmelite Order, and spent several years on Mt Carmel. In 1247 he was elected the sixth prior general of the Carmelites. On Sunday 16 July 1251 the Blessed Virgin appeared to Simon in Cambridge, England. In prayer he asked for some privilege for his Order, offering the prayer Flos Carmeli. The Virgin appeared surrounded by a multitude of angels and bearing the scapular of the order in her blessed hands, saying: “May this be to you and to all the Carmelites a pledge, that whoever dies wearing it will not suffer eternal fire, that is, wearing this, he will be saved.” The Sabbatine Privilege The Virgin Mary appeared also to Pope John XXII, as recorded in his Bull Sacratissimo uti culmine of 3 March 1322, and promised that those who wear the scapular and fulfill two other conditions (chastity according to their state of life, and the daily recitation of the Little Office of Our Lady) will be freed from Purgatory on the first Saturday after death. Scapular miracles 1. Another Scapular miracle took place in 1845. In the late summer of that year, the English ship, King of the Ocean,* on its way to Australia found itself in the middle of a hurricane.

Osman Washington, D.C. 2015 A Manual of Prayers for the Use of the Catholic Laity: A Neglected Catechetical Text of the Third Plenary Council of Baltimore John H. Osman, Ph.D. Director: Joseph M. White, Ph.D. At the 1884 Third Plenary Council of Baltimore, the US Catholic bishops commissioned a national prayer book titled the Manual of Prayers for the Use of the Catholic Laity and the widely-known Baltimore Catechism. This study examines the Manual’s genesis, contents, and publication history to understand its contribution to the Church’s teaching efforts. To account for the Manual’s contents, the study describes prayer book genres developed in the British Isles that shaped similar publications for use by American Catholics. The study considers the critiques of bishops and others concerning US-published prayer books, and episcopal decrees to address their weak theological content. To improve understanding of the Church’s liturgy, the bishops commissioned a prayer book for the laity containing selections from Roman liturgical books. The study quantifies the text’s sources from liturgical and devotional books. The book’s compiler, Rev. Clarence Woodman, C.S.P., adopted the English manual prayer book genre while most of the book’s content derived from the Roman Missal, Breviary, and Ritual, albeit augmented with highly regarded English and US prayers and instructions.
