AIT POSITION Seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented individual for an AIT position Opened in 1989, Sherwood Country Club is a Jack Nicklaus Design signature 18-hole private Country Club located in the Santa Monica mountains in Thousand Oaks, CA. A $10.5 million course renovation was completed in 2016, including sand capping, new drainage, and new Toro Irrigation. Bentgrass tees, fairways and greens; ryegrass rough. Sherwood is rated in the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. Sherwood has a rich history of hosting PGA Tour events such as Shark Shootout hosted by Greg Norman, the World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods from 2000-2013, the PowerShares QQQ Championship from 2016-18, and most recently the ZOZO Championship in 2020 with 74 of the top world players. Responsibilities Include • Assist golf course superintendent with daily planning and scheduling • Learn to manage and install Toro Irrigation (Lynx &VP Satellites) • Assist with pesticide and fertilizer applications • Learn to properly calibrate fertilizer spreaders and sprayers • Learn to establish a sound fertilizer and pesticide program • Monitor golf course playing conditions including greens moisture management • Assist with golf course set up, projects and all facets of golf course operation Requirements • Golf Course Maintenance, seeding, planting, cultivating, pruning, hand watering and care of plants, shrubs, and trees • Proper use of fertilizer herbicides, and pest control methods • Identification of ornamental and turf pests and diseases • Conversational Spanish • Basic computer skills Desirable candidate will possess: Strong attention detail, self-motivated, solid work ethic, career oriented, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, plays and enjoys the game of golf, positive attitude and willing to bring new ideas.
