CITY CENTRE S.AMBROGIO/CARROBBIO BRERA PORTELLO CADORNA/CASTELLO LAMBRATE/CIMIANO QUADRILATERO/P.VENEZIA INGANNI P.ROMANA/LODI/CINQUE GIORNATE RHO FIERAMILANO TORTONA AROUND MILANO ISOLA ONLINE CITY CENTRE FROM 4th - 19th SEPTEMBER INTERNI CREATIVE CONNECTIONS UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO VIA FESTA DEL PERDONO Interni, the illustrious Italian design magazine, proposes a series of installations, thematic exhibitions and micro-architectures in 3 city spaces - Università degli Studi, the Brera Botanical Garden and the ‘Audi City Lab’ - to stimulate and cultivate connections between top creatives in the sector who have an intrinsic need to link people, ideas and projects from different places, environments and cultures. Created by illustrious national and international designers, under the patronage of companies and institutions, the installations aim to portray the collective yearning for regeneration animated by conscientious listening to the ‘things of the world’, greater sensitivity, attention and ‘care’ for things. The exhibition marks FuoriSalone’s 30th anniversary, established in 1990 by Interni and unanimously acknowledged as ‘the’ landmark event for international design and architecture. www.internimagazine.it FROM 4th - 10th SEPTEMBER PRATONE FOREVER PIAZZA SAN FEDELE 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of Pratone Gufram: the irreverent chaise-longue that is an iconic cult piece and a point of reference in the history of Italian design. Pratone, created in 1971 by the Strum Group (Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi and Riccardo Rosso), places the emphasis on creative freedom rather than on functional needs. With its long green stalks, this unconventional seat represents a section of a grassy garden, deliberately out of proportion, which users can comfortably recline on, a zany alternative to the classic armchair. Gufram Pratone is a radical, revolutionary item that expresses a sense of irony and brings vibrancy and colour to any environment. www.gufram.it/en FROM 5th - 10th SEPTEMBER (RE)NEW TOGETHER ARPER SPA VIA PANTANO 30 As the name suggests (Re) New Together is an innovative way of connecting, collaborating and socialising. The concept that will guide Arper's presence for Design Week is closely connected to the brand's DNA and to the experience we have endured in 18 months of a pandemic that has inevitably influenced our approach to things, people and situations. A talk will be held on Monday 6th September, focusing on the issue of sustainability as an integral part of the project design with the three preeminent designers showing at the SuperSalone. This can be accessed in two formats: in presence at the Arper showroom and on social media and Supersalone digital platform. An installation dedicated to the late Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi will also be on display in the via Osti 2 space. www.arper.com FROM 4th - 10th SEPTEMBER ARCHITETTURA 6.0 SHOWROOM COSENTINO PIAZZA FONTANA 9 6 architects 6 projects 6 visions: like the 6 facets of a cube. This imaginary exhibition is created from the concepts of 6 different architects, a sort of freely-planned structure, both abstract and real. Concept is close to action/construction thanks to the process of rapid prototyping and the universal language of making. An operational 3D printer will demonstrate its applications and the ever-present effectiveness of modelling ideas. The architects under the spotlight are: Atelier(S) Alfonso Femia, Giuseppe Tortato, Maurizio De Caro and Michele Brunello, Mygg Architecture, Park Associati and Vittorio Grassi Architetto and Partners. ioarch.it FROM 4th - 19th SEPTEMBER FALSO AUTENTICO LARGO FRANCESCO RICHINI/UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO Falso Authentico (False Authentic) is a new oeuvre by the artist Marco Nereo Rotelli. Two installations - located in the Università Statale cloister and in Largo Francesco Richini - are connected by a single concept: to enable persons to experience opposites, without compromise. Externally the ‘Falso Authentico’ installation resembles an African mud hut, in its interior visitors can interact between the physical and digital world. The installation in Piazza Richini ‘Falso Autentico Concept Lab’ intensifies the experience created by the artwork: it becomes a place to compare and exchange ideas, where visitors can dialogue with the artist and approach new expressive forms. www.videomobile.it FROM 4th - 10th SEPTEMBER DRESSING DEPERO GALLERIA EXPOWALL VIA CURTATONE 4 For Milan Design Week, the Expowall gallery presents an unprecedented Scultura Vestita (Dressed Sculpture) by the contemporary artist Stefano Bressani that reproduces Fortunato Depero’s famous image ‘Pupazzo che beve il Campari soda’ (Puppet Drinking Campari Soda).
