Def Jam Records, along with Grammy-nominated producer NO I.D’s ARTIUM RECORDINGS (pronounced ARTium) label imprint, announce the signing of Maryland- based producer, DJ Silent Asassin. The news was announced earlier today via TMZ and is heralded by the release of his new single “New Fade (feat. Tate KOBANG).” The Southside- produced song will appear on DJ’s label debut, Free on Friday slated for release next month. “New Fade (feat. He’s one of the dopest producers spite his past he’s out here and it’s time to take it to the next level with my team at Def Jam. I’m excited for his next chapter as an producer and now and it’s only right for my bro Jerez to be the sixth artist on Artium Records,” says No I.D. DJ Silent Asassin mirrors his excitement in a conversation with Billboard stating, “Signing to Artium Recordings was nothing new. Mustard is family and I wouldn’t want to be around no one else.”
After becoming the primary producer of 4:44 by Jay-Z, NO I.D has served as a musical mentor for several artists such as Kanye West and J Cole, he is considered "The Godfather of Chicago hip hop".Wilson was once president of West's G.O.O.D. Music record company, and although he would resign from that position, he stayed contracted as an in-house producer. In June 2011, Wilson announced he formed the supergroup Cocaine 80s, alongside Common and several other artists. In August 2011, Wilson became the Executive Vice President of A&R for Def Jam Recordings. He subsequently launched his own record label imprint, ARTium Recordings. He is currently the Executive Vice President at Capitol Music Group.
