Employee Portal Corporate Store ATSG ABX AIR UNVEILS THROWBACK LIVERY ABX Air Unveils Throwback Livery ABX Air Highlights Airborne Express Heritage to Celebrate 40th Anniversary WILMINGTON, OH – September 30, 2020 – ABX Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, unveiled a throwback livery on one of its Boeing 767-200 aircraft to celebrate its 40th anniversary year. The livery features the retro Airborne Express logo and tail colors. The new livery is on aircraft tail N768AX, one of the earliest Boeing 767s acquired by ABX Air. The aircraft was converted to a freighter and given the original Airborne Express livery in 1998. ABX Air has operated the aircraft for over 31,200 flight hours and over 12,500 landing cycles during its years of service. The livery took four days to install. On September 30, 2020, the aircraft made a special stop at the Wilmington Air Park to be the focal point of a celebration for the company’s 40th Anniversary before returning to revenue service in the ABX Air network. Employees were given a commemorative coin and cookies with an image of the Boeing 767 freighter. “ABX Air is the culmination of 40 years of airline history that grew under the Airborne Express livery,” noted David Soaper, president of ABX Air. “We wanted to honor the customers and employees who were a part of our history, and we couldn’t think of a better way than the throwback livery.” From its inception in 1946, Airborne Express served the shipping needs of business customers around the globe, growing to become one of the largest express delivery companies in the world. Its dedicated airline, ABX Air, was formed in 1980 to operate the company’s aircraft and sorting centers. When Airborne’s ground operations were acquired by DHL in 2003, ABX Air became an independent public company. Employees at Atsg Companies Raise Over $64,000 for Charity
EMPLOYEES AT ATSG COMPANIES RAISE OVER $64,000 FOR CHARITY WILMINGTON, OH - January 16, 2013 – During their annual fundraising drive to benefit local charities, employees of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries at Wilmington Air Park raised $64,640 in pledges and donations, including a $10,000 corporate contribution from ATSG. ABX Air, Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES), and LGSTX Services are among the ATSG subsidiaries based at Wilmington Air Park. The drive allows employees to divide their donation as desired among several charities, including the United Way of Clinton County, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and local food pantries. "Year after year our employees step up to the plate to help fund the important role these organizations fill in our community," said company spokesperson Paul Cunningham. The company has organized an annual charity drive every year since 1984. In addition to giving through payroll deduction, employees also created and raffled off gift baskets, cooked meals, held bake sales, and competed in a variety of fundraising contests. (ATSG) said today that its ABX Air subsidiary has reached a tentative agreement to amend the collective bargaining agreement with its pilot group, currently numbering more than 230 flight crew members. ABX Air’s pilots are represented by the Airline Professionals Association of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 1224 (IBT). The tentative agreement would extend for six (6) years from the date of ratification by the ABX Air pilots. “We are optimistic that this tentative agreement, if ratified, will give ABX Air the opportunity to compete for new growth and provide all our employees with opportunities for career advancement and financial stability,” said ABX Air president David Soaper, “while ensuring that ABX Air continues to provide the excellent service its customers expect.” Terms of the tentative agreement were not disclosed but will be presented to the ABX Air pilot group prior to holding a ratification vote.
