MEM = Member’s Price There’s more distillation in the Lowlands than any other Scottish region, but its days as a significant single malt player are consigned to history. This is the home of the blend, and of the large quantities of grain whisky which form its foundation – but a few producers keep up the trademark light and grassy Lowland malt style. 4 All spirits are sold in measures of 25ml or multiples thereof. All prices listed are for a large measure of 50ml. Should you require a 25ml measure, please ask. All whiskies are subject to availability. MEM = Member’s Price AILSA BAY (ALE-sah Bay) Ailsa Bay was built within Girvan grain distillery in 2007 to produce malt whisky for William Grant's range of blends. The first single malt, a heavily peated no-age-statement release, was launched in February 2016, after eight years of operation. 1154 Ailsa Bay 48.9% £17.55 Creamy with sherried fruit, a touch of honey and spice on the nose. A sweet, malty, marmalade-like taste with a mellow malty and citrusy finish. AUCHENTOSHAN (OCHun–TOShun) Founded by Irish refugees in 1825 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Auchentoshan is one of the last active distilleries in the Lowlands. In common with other Lowland (and Irish) whiskies, Auchentoshan malt whisky is distilled three times (as opposed to most Scottish malt whisky, which is distilled twice). This triple-distillation has the effect of softening the flavour and body of the end product. 3259 Auchentoshan American Oak 40% £13.30 Auchentoshan American Oak was introduced in 2014 to replace the MEM £12.00 Classic. Matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks, this is a vanilla- rich and fruity whisky. 3679 Auchentoshan Bartender’s Malt Annual Edition 01 47% £14.15 The first edition of Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt was created by 12 competition-winning bartenders. Comprised of whiskies distilled between the 1970s and the early-2010s, this has notes of brioche, milk chocolate and dark apricots. 622 Auchentoshan 12yr 40% £14.80 Cereals and exotic fruits on the nose with sherried tannins, a little MEM £13.35 sweet barley and vanilla in the mouth. Dry and very long finish, with a little sweetness from the barley. 625 Auchentoshan Three Wood 43% £15.55 The ever-popular Auchentoshan 3 Wood is matured initially in bourbon casks before being finished in Oloroso then Pedro Ximénez casks for an extra layer of rich, sweet fruitiness. 1198 Auchentoshan 18yr 43% £23.40 Rife with toasty oak and vanilla spice. Chocolate cake and a lovely grassiness. Toasty vanilla, dark nuttiness on the palate, with a malty finish, little custard and fresh flowers. 623 Auchentoshan 18yr 1980’s 43% £88.90 An old rectangular bottling of triple distilled Auchentoshan 18 year old, bottled at 43% for the French market. We estimate this bottle dates from the 1980s. 624 Auchentoshan 1965 31yr Cask 2510 45.5% £255.15 An old 1990s single cask bottling of cask strength Auchentoshan 1965, MEM £229.65 bottled at 31 years old. Lowland whiskies at this age are fairly rare and take on complexity, but keeping their lighter style, making an elegant malt. 5 All spirits are sold in measures of 25ml or multiples thereof. All prices listed are for a large measure of 50ml. Should you require a 25ml measure, please ask. All whiskies are subject to availability. MEM = Member’s Price BLADNOCH (BLADnoch) Scotland's most southerly working distillery has an echoing connection with Northern Ireland. Built in 1817, the distillery as sold in 1911 by the founding McLelland family to the Belfast based whisky merchant Dunville & Co., who made their own whiskey in Ireland but were in need of stocks of Scotch to fulfil customer demand. As of July 2016, Bladnoch was scheduled to resume production by spring of 2017, with much new equipment, including four 5 tonne mash tuns, six Douglas Fir wooden washbacks, two 12,500 litre capacity wash stills, two 9,500 litre capacity low wines stills, and a steam boiler that will be fuelled with LPG. In late 2016, Prior officially relaunched Bladnoch, and announced three new expressions, created from aged stocks by master distiller Ian MacMillan: the no age statement Samsara, the 15-year-old Adela and the 25-year-old Talia. 3878 Bladnoch Adela 15 Yr Sherry Cask 46.7% £29.90 Adela is the 15-year-old offering from the revitalised Bladnoch distillery in the Lowlands. Matured in oloroso-sherry casks, this is rich and sweet with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, coffee and liquorice. GLENKINCHIE (glen KINsee) Founded in 1825 in the outlying farmland around Edinburgh as Milton distillery (before being renamed in 1837), Glenkinchie languished in obscurity for over 150 years before becoming an international brand almost overnight at the end of the 1980s. Prior to this time, the distillery's main claims to fame were as one of the five original Lowland distillers to found Scottish Malt Distillers Ltd; and as one of very few distilleries to continue production throughout the Second World War. 833 Glenkinchie 12yr 43% £14.30 The nose is quite light, yet fragrant, fresh cereal and grist, some barley MEM £12.90 sweetness and a nutty note. The palate is very fruity with notes of Madeira and sweet stewed fruits. A hint of calvados and tannic oak lining the mouth. The finish is of medium length with notes of cereal and a fresh greenness.

Highland Park 12yr (40%) From Scotland’s northernmost distillery comes a full flavoured Malt. With a nose of malt, sherry and peat, a palate of smoke, heather and other earthy elements. Highland Park 15yr (43%) Highland Park 15 has a remarkable complex nose with notes of camphor, peat and citrus fruits and flowers. The drying sensation on the finish leaves a rich smoky feeling and the immediate desire to refill your glass. Highland Park 18yr (43%) Burnished gold in colour with a rich, mature oak and aromatic smoke aroma. It has a rich, full flavour, honey and peat taste and a soft, round and long finish. Highland Park 21yr (47.5%) Drawing its incredible character from predominantly American oak casks which have been seasoned with sherry, this 21 year old is a truly dynamic whisky with an intensely fruity and spicy centre, surrounded by complex layers of candied orange peel, dark chocolate and rich, slightly drier smoke. A malt that rewards patience and delivers experience like no other. Highland Park 25yr (50.7%) With its golden dark red colour and very rich, mature oak, chocolate fudge aroma, this whisky is universally acclaimed, by the critics as one of the great single malts. It has a full, rich burst of flavours, soft honey and nutty toffee and a long and surprisingly sweet finish for its age. Highland Park 30yr (48.1%) 30 years ago after deciding to lay down the casks that would go on to become the heart of this exceptional whisky and over these 3 decades, the whisky maturing inside them has developed an outstanding balance, with a seductive sweetness and extremely delicate smoke.

  • The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky The Balvenie is a unique range of single malts created by David Stewart, The Balvenie Malt Master and longest-serving Malt Master in the industry. Each has a very individual taste, but each is rich, luxuriously smooth and underpinned by the distinctively honeyed character of The Balvenie. Produced in Speyside in the Scottish Highlands, the exceptional quality of The Balvenie Single Malt is due to the fact that The Balvenie Distillery retains and nurtures a high level of craftsmanship that other malt whisky producers no longer employ: nowhere else will you find a distillery that still grows its own barley, still malts in its own traditional floor maltings, still employs coopers to tend all the casks and a coppersmith to maintain the stills. Today the Balvenie Distillery produces a multi award-winning range of The Balvenie Single Malts, which includes The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old, The Balvenie Signature 12 Year Old, The Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year Old, The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old and The Balvenie Thirty. A limited edition and a rare vintage cask over 30 years old are also bottled each year. Our Award Winning Single Malt The Balvenie Malt Master, David Stewart, and his team of craftsmen are thrilled that their time honoured skills have been so highly rewarded. With over one hundred whisky awards in the last ten years, the world’s most acclaimed experts have recognised The Balvenie’s unique quality and range of tastes and the commitment to traditional malt whisky making, which sets us apart from other single malts.
