Philadelphia Works To Temporarily Close PA CareerLink® Suburban Station Center for Renovation

The Center will reopen in the fall with enhancements and better space for job and recruitment activities

PHILADELPHIA- Philadelphia Works, the ’s lead workforce development organization, will nd temporarily close its PA CareerLink® Suburban Station Center, located on the 2 floor at 1617 JFK Boulevard. From June 20, 2014 to approximately October 1, 2014, the center will be renovated to better serve its customers. The temporary closing will result in a new office design that will increase the computer lab area and provide better space for job fairs and recruitment activities.

During the renovation, Suburban Station customers may visit any location but are encouraged to visit the PA CareerLink® location at 990 Spring Garden Street. This location is the closest center (approximately 1.3 miles from Suburban Station) and easily accessible via public transportation (Market-Frankford Line: 8 minute ride and 10 minute walk; 23 Bus Line: 5 minute ride and 2 minute walk and Broad Street Subway: 5 minute ride and 5 minute walk).

Job seekers can also use PA CareerLink® centers in three other Philadelphia locations that will remain open with no interruption in service. Those locations are:

Current staff at the Suburban Station location will remain employed and be temporarily re-assigned to one of the three other locations to accommodate redirected traffic.

All centers are open from 8:00pm - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
