Espoo School of Art's Distance Learning Art Supply Kits, Spring 2021: Distribution Schedule and Instructions Espoo School of Art's Distance Learning Art Supply Kits, Spring 2021: Distribution Schedule and Instructions While the coronavirus situation halts in-person lessons at Espoo School of Art, the students of the school will be granted art supply kits to be used at home during distance learning lessons. The supply kits will be distributed to the students' guardians in front of each group's main studio in a pre- determined order, some exceptions notwithstanding. In order to facilitate the distribution process, please make sure that you know the name of the student's group before picking up their supplies. You may also pick up the art supplies of another guardian's child on their behalf, should you agree to do so. Please mind our social distancing policy while picking up your art supply kit: if there's already more than ten people waiting in queue before you, be kind and wait for your turn further away from them. The art supply kits will be distributed in a scheduled order so that we won't attract large crowds and run the risk of infections. However, the schedule should be regarded as a suggestion rather than a rule; if you are unable to make it to your scheduled time slot, you may come and pick up your art supply kit at the ”wrong” time, just as long as you mind your distance and wait for any possible crowd to clear before getting in queue. Students with lessons in the Kirsti school (Kirstin koulu) and members of Espoo School of Art's art clubs may pick up their art supply kits from any place at any time cited below. Art supply kits that are yet to be claimed by week 3 (Jan 18 – Jan 24) will be distributed to students who still haven't received theirs on a later date that will be specified later. If you are unable to pick up your art supply kit, don't worry – every student will get a chance to receive theirs sooner or later. Contact the school and schedule a pick-up time that suits you at the school's Tapiola studio (at WeeGee) after the official distribution dates. The art supplies have been packaged and handled with rubber gloves. The supplies will be handed out from the school's white van, unless we've informed you otherwise. The distribution process will be overseen by Jaakko Järveläinen (tel. 040 562 9889).     JOBNAME: Czarniawska PAGE: 1 SESS: 3 OUTPUT: Tue Oct 15 10:51:14 2013 2. ‘What are we to do with our new affluence?’ Anticipating, framing and managing the putative plenty of post-war Finland Mika Pantzar When the first internationally known ‘garden city’ – Tapiola, near Helsinki – was being developed some 50 years ago, warnings about forthcoming prosperity, excessive consumption and urban sprawl came into the picture from the very beginning. In retrospect, deciding what to do with a ‘new affluence’ – overflow management, in other words – was not the most obvious problem in one of the poorest countries in Europe and one, moreover, which was just recovering from the heavy losses of war. The affluence was more utopian dream than any kind of reality. Nevertheless, standards of the ‘good life’ and ‘proper’ consumption in Finland began to be defined by professionals from relatively new fields such as home economics and sociology, together with urban planners and architects. In the course of the Tapiola building project, the discursive frames of the different professions involved converged by means of fairly ambiguous concepts such as ‘biological function’, ‘catching up’, dormi- tory town’, ‘cross-sectional society’ and ‘neighbourhood unit’. A closer look at the reality behind these terms reveals a seemingly shared view of the necessity, as well as a deterministic theory, of social progress, and the aim of restricting the wrong kind of growth. Today Tapiola, with its 20 000 inhabitants, exemplifies a rare persis- tence of Ebenezer Howard’s original term ‘garden city’ (Aario, 1986; Ward, 1992). The internet and digitalization of services has changed the way the cities and other public sector actors provide services and information to the residents. The objective of this study was to find out the main improvements the current espoo.fi website users want to have on the renewed espoo.fi website. The renewed website will be launched in 2021. There was a mixed method questionnaire conducted, with both closed and open-ended questions. Espoo has had its website since the late 1990’s and there has been one prior renewal of the website in 2011. The questionnaire was distributed via the current Espoo.fi website and Espoo’s social media channels. It was answered by 433 re- spondents. The research questions were: how is the current Espoo.fi website used, what are the users’ perceptions of the content on the website, and what are the main improvements the users want to the renewed espoo.fi? The current website was stated to be used to find information on the services, mainly on weekly and monthly basis, and the content of the website needed to be easy to find. The five most wanted topics by the respondents to be on the renewed website were: the services of Espoo, and more precisely health services should be more clearly stated, the contact information of all service locations, and of the employ- ees of Espoo especially working in the city planning and building, city planning issues, a better search function, and decisions made by the City Council and the committees, includ- ing the minutes of the meetings.

In recent decades, the public sector has instead taken on the role as an owner and a buyer (Valovirta & Hyvönen 2009) through privatization, purchasing and outsourcing activities (Pekkarinen, Hennala, Harmaakorpi & Tura, 2011). Back in the eighties, the public sector started to turn to the private sector (Sagawa & Segal 2000), resulting in the emergence of cross-sector partnerships (Guzmán & Sierra, 2012). Now, it is the private sector that instead provides public services. The city of Espoo’s logistics unit is responsible for school transportation in the city. Followingly, the city has also contracted private transport companies to provide citizens with transport service, thus transferring the responsibility of the service provision to the transport companies. The question is: how can the city maintain its control over the service quality in such a service triad through a dyadic relationship? This study is a case study focusing on the city of Espoo. The aim of this study is to provide suggestions for transport service quality management, monitoring and measurement by studying five other main cities and comparing them to the city of Espoo.
