The Orchestra was formed as a result of a lifelong interest in early 20th Century history and thus the inspiration for an ensemble arose out of Andrew Nolte’s vast collection of old records, orchestrations, piano music, film, magazines and newspa- pers. After their early appearances the Orchestra had developed a reputation for performing music of the 1920s with an unmatched pep and vitality, a dedication to authenticity, and highly focused on engaging their audiences. In an age where the Art Deco age is nearly en- tirely lost from living memory, the era of the wireless, pre-sound motion pictures and the gramophone it strongly evoked and lives on within the Orchestra! . DAVID GARDNER QUARTET David has composed and recorded many of his own compositions, notably on his ARIA nominated disc titled ‘Artistic Lament’. He has 3 compositions for published by Brolga Music, distribut- ed internationally by C Alan publications, one of these was featured by a band at each of the Chica- go Midwest Clinics 2014 & 2015. He has arranged for many different ensembles, for small chamber groups to large orchestral and concert bands. These arrangements were written at many levels of performance skill from beginner primary school student level, through to advanced tertiary and pro- fessional level arrangements. David has had the honour of many of his arrangements being per- formed and/or recorded by groups.
