1951 Spring - guests with Ory band at Beverly Cavern (JJ – April „51) May - Ory wins All Time All Star Poll in the Record Changer (RC – May „51) May 5th - KOCJB plays Concert at Pomona Junior College, California (C30) June - Dick Cathcart band shares Beverly Cavern job with Ory (JJ – June „51) July - KOCJB opens at the 331 Club, 8th Street, LA. Prior to this, the club only used trios such as Nat Cole etc. This was the first booking under Ory‟s signing with Joe Glaser‟s ABC Agency (DB - 27/7/51) October 5th - KOCJB plays the 4th Dixieland Jubilee at the Shrine Auditorium, LA. 7,000 attend. (ILB) (C31) Also on the bill were Turk Murphy and Rosy McHargue. (JJ – Dec „51) December - Ory draws capacity crowds at the 331 Club. (JJ – Nov „51)

1952 Live at Saint and Sinners Jazz Club, Arizona (F2) January - Ory still at the 331 Club (DB – Jan „52) Spring - KO signs a contract with Rose Stanman (the owner of the Beverly Cavern). Band billed as “Kid Ory and his C Note Dixieland Band” (JJ – Feb „52) April 6th - Ory band plays concert at the Shrine Auditorium, LA (C32) May 11th - Band shares a concert with the Turk Murphy band in Oakland. The concert was not well attended as the promoter turned up an hour late! (DB - 18/6/52) Summer - Harvey O Brooks replaces Lloyd Glenn on piano (JJ – June „52) June 21st – KOCJB play a benefit show from the Shrine Auditorium, LA, California. June 23rd – Complaint lodged with local 767 Musicians Union regarding KOCJB playing the Shrine concert and appearing on the “ and Bob Hope Show” with no contract or report. July 1st – Summoned and reprimanded. September - Bob McCracken clt, deps for Joe Darensbourg who is getting married (TILII) December - KOCJB plays Club Hangover for the first time. Ory celebrates his 66th Birthday at the Beverly Cavern, where he has been for nine months. Ory made a member of ASCAP with Muskrat Ramble and Savoy Blues (JJ – Jan „53)

Ory asked him to join the band previously, during the war, but he refused due to the housing shortage. Suffers fractured arm and nose injuries and taken to Franklin Hospital. (OT) May - Ed Garland leaves Club Hangover after row over money and is replaced by Summer - KOCJB temporarily disbands due to Ory‟s ill health (JC) August 6th – KO wins annulment of marriage to Elizabeth Ory. 1965 Ory appears in the Ed Sullivan TV show (NOTFA) (E13) Sept 24th & 25th - Once more at Disneyland. Guests with the “Young Men of New Orleans”

1966 Summer - Ory moves to Oahu Island, Honolulu, Hawaii. Becomes firm friends with who regards Ory as the greatest tailgate trombonist ever.

1969 Ory is sick with pneumonia

1970 Honolulu - “The Royal Hawaiian Band plays its annual Christmas concert in Kapiolani Park. Kid Ory, the trombonist, who in 1921 in Los Angeles made the first black jazz combo record session, retired here some years ago. Frail and no longer able to play, he is called out of the audience. „This is our tribute to Mr Ory,‟ says the narrator. Ory. whose career began in New Orleans in 1907, is frail; he looks like a patriarch Indian Chief. On stage he sings a chorus of the composition that became his social security: „Muskrat Ramble‟.
