She is researching the representation of motherhood in contemporary American TV. She has written with Janet McCabe on female narratives and narration in American TV drama. JONATHAN BIGNELL is Reader in Television and Film in the Depart- ment of Film, Theatre and Television at the University of Reading. He is the Director of the Centre for Television Drama Studies, and leads a research project on British TV drama from 1960 to 1982. His publications include Postmodern Media Culture (Edinburgh University Press, 2000) and British Television Drama: Past, Present and Future (Palgrave Macmillan, 2000), and he is joint series editor of ‘The Television Series’ monographs on TV screenwriters for Manchester University Press. He has recently completed a book on Terry Nation’s science fiction TV in the series, and is currently writ- ing a book on Big Brother and reality TV. STELLA BRUZZI is Professor of Film Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London. She has written several essays on film and fashion, and is the author of Undressing Cinema: Clothing and Identity in the Movies (Routledge, 1997) and New Documentary: A Critical Introduction (Routledge, 2000). She has co-edited and contributed to Fashion Cultures: Explorations, Theories and Analysis (Routledge, 2000) and has just completed a book on the representation of fatherhood in post-war Hollywood cinema (BFI, 2004). MARK W. BUNDY lives in Southern California, where he is working on a PhD in English as a Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow at the University of California, Riverside. He has presented several con- ference papers on ‘Gay and Lesbian Studies and Visual Culture’, both internationally and in the US, and he has an article forth- coming in a book of essays about the work of Gloria Anzaldua. Fey's reputation as a feminist—indeed, as Hollywood's Token Feminist, as some journalists have wryly pointed out—heavily inflects the character she plays, the "bossy" Liz Lemon, whose idealistic feminism is a mainstay of her characterization and of the show's comedy. Fey's comedy has always focused on gender, beginning with her work on Saturday Night Live (SNL) where she became that show's first female head writer in 1999. A year later she moved from behind the scenes to appear in the "Weekend Update" sketches, attracting national attention as a gifted comic with a penchant for zeroing in on women's issues. Fey's connection to feminist politics escalated when she returned to SNL for guest appearances during the presidential campaign of 2008, first in a sketch protesting the sexist media treatment of Hillary Clinton, and more forcefully, in her stunning imitations of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, which launched Fey into national politics and prominence. This research is qualitative research. Type of data of the study is text and image taken from two data sources: primary and secondary. The primary data source is Remember Me movie directed by Allen Coulter released in 2010. While the secondary data sources are other materials taken from books, encyclopedia, and internet related to the study. Both data are collected through library research and analyzed by descriptive analysis. The study comes to the following conclusions. Firstly, based on the structural analysis of each elements, it shows that the character and characterization, casting, plot, setting, point of view, theme, mise-en scene, cinematography, sound and editing are related to each other and form the unity into good quality movie, secondly, based on the psychoanalytic analysis, there is a close relationship between the movie story and the reality condition of young man who falls in love.

This paper will look at the characters’ professional lives, relationships with the opposite sex, and moral compasses. This paper also examines how the protagonists in the novels Sex and the City and Lipstick Jungle differ from their television counterparts. Lastly, this work will look at how Candace Bushnell’s images of the journalist fit into larger social theories about women in the media. From Carrie to Nico: Female Journalists in Candace Bushnell Novels 3 Introduction “Chick lit,” a pop culture abbreviation for chick literature, is a growing sector of the $23-billion publishing industry.1 This genre of books is considered to a subsection of women’s fiction and features “everyday women in their 20s and 30s navigating their generation’s challenges of balancing demanding careers with personal relationships.”2 These books made publishers $71 million in 2002 according to ABC News.3 Sessalee Hensely, a fiction buyer for giant retailer Barnes & Noble, explains, “The mega authors John Grisham, Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy all have had a fall-off in sales, but the chick lit is growing and they’re growing exponentially.”4 The increase in sales of these novels has made Hollywood take notice.
