Reverend Pablo and Jan Feliciano Cruz , Chiapas,

The Ministry’s Focus: Hebron Tzeltal, Hebron, USA, and our missionaries in Chiapas focus on meeting the spiritual and medical needs of the twelve indigenous people groups in southern Mexico by maintaining a newly completed medical clinic , planting churches, and educating pastors and lay leaders to minister to the people there.

The Ministry: Hebron de Desarrollo Tzelta is a Mexican non‐profit organized in 2009 is an offshoot of the Tzeltal Synod. It means Tzeltal Development and works closely with the Tzeltal Synod of the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico identifying needed projects in which American groups might work with the to complete. It has been heavily involved in the construction of the Clinica Tzeltal Manos de Cristo (Hands of Christ Clinic).

2PC works with Hebron, USA, in North Carolina and supports the work of Rev. Pablo and Jan Feliciano Cruz in Ocosingo as they minister to the needs of the in the state of Chiapas. The Clinica Tzeltal Manos de Cristo Clinic is their joint project. The clinic will provide access to respectful and competent medical care for the one million people of Chiapas who currently have limited access to the state medical hospitals. The Clinic will enhance the work being done through the preaching and teaching of God’s word. In addition our pastors have joined other American pastors to provide theological education to students, Tzeltal pastors, and commissioned lay pastors at the Alpha y Omega Instituto (Alpha and Omega Institute) in Ocosingo in the Clinic compound.

Pablo, an ordained Presbyterian minister, serves as Director of Hebron de Desarrollo Tzeltal and moderator of the Tzeltal Synod; he pastors four churches in the state, remains a supporter of the Alpha y Omega Instituto, and has overseen the construction and now the management of the Los Manos de Cristo Medical Clinic. His wife Jan serves as director and chief cook for the compound that serves the many mission teams that come to serve, and she conducts a ministry in three prisons in Chiapas.

2PC Involvement: Since 2006 2PC mission teams have experienced the critical need of the indigenous peoples as 2PC members & friends traveled to Chiapas to help assist with temporary medical clinics & construction of the Clinica Tzeltal Manos de Cristo. We have observed firsthand Pablo’s and Jan’s fruitful efforts to plant and build churches in the jungles of Chiapas and to build a modern medical clinic in Ocosingo to provide respectful and quality medical care to the 12 people groups in the state who have come to trust Christians far more than their own government. We’ve worshipped with them as they praise God in the Ocosingo Templo Presbyteriana Nuevo Vida and other Presbyterian churches in the country, and Jan attests to the success of the prison ministry which is bringing more people to God. We have embarked on a new program to train ESL tutors in Ocosingo to work with Jan and her tutors to teach their people to speak English. We have also been blessed to have implemented successful financial campaigns to fund Jan & Pablo’s work.
