NOTES FROM OTHER Texas colleges: …Texas-Arlington announced last week that it will not be cutting sports but also won’t be adding sports. It had been rumored that the Mavericks might add football in the future. Athletic director Jim Baker said the athletic department will retain its 13 intercollegiate sports but doesn’t plan to add a sport. UTA dropped football in 1985. A feasibility study was conducted on the possibility of resuming football. “It’s down the road,” Baker said in the Fort Worth Star- Telegram. “We got the report and we are looking at it. It’s just so far from what we are trying to do. Right now we are just trying to keep the doors open and take care of our staff. We will get to that when we get to it.” Page…T 7 Madeleine Maltais Joseph Partida Hernandez Latest Signee for Javelina Track & Field Team (Continued from Page 2) 160, Fr., Houston (King).
