  • Lou Christie & Bobby Rydell
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Alison Trovato 630.962.7000 | [email protected] April 2, 2018 1960s Teen Idols Bobby Rydell & Lou Christie Come to the Arcada St. Charles, IL: The Arcada Theatre is excited to welcome former teen icons and beloved entertainers Bobby Rydell and Lou Christie on Sunday, April 15 at 3pm. The co-bill brings two of the sixties most influential singers to the Historic stage, sharing classic songs such as "Wild One" and "Volare" as well as "The Gypsy Cried" and "Lightnin' Strikes." The evening will be an intimate, family-friendly rock 'n roll experience to remember. Bobby Rydell was first discovered in the late '50s as a teenage drummer sitting in on fellow-heartthrob Frankie Avalon's local band, Rocco and the Saints. At age 19 he was the youngest person to headline the famous Copacabana in New York and in 1963 starred alongside Ann-Margret in the iconic movie, "Bye Bye Birdie." The producers of Grease even named the high school "Rydell High" to pay tribute to Bobby's musical influence! Lou Christie's distinct falsetto and songwriting collaboration with the classically trained musician Twyla Herbert, thirty years his senior, has influenced artists including Elton John, Madonna, John Lennon and The Rolling Stones. His chart-topping hit "Rhapsody In The Rain" was the first song to be banned on the radio due to it's suggestive lyrics, with other highlights including his appearances on "Dick Clark's Caravan Of Stars," sharing 72 consecutive one-nighters with Diana Ross and the Supremes, and a command performance for Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family.

Silver Eagle USA Discography by Mike Callahan, David Edwards & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan Silver Eagle Discography Silver Eagle was a Canadian company headquartered near Toronto at 115 Apple Creek Blvd., Markham, Ontario, Canada. The label was a subsidiary of LaBuick & Associates Media, Inc., and label President was Ed LaBuick. The Media company specialized in TV marketing, and in addition to Silver Eagle also promoted Time-Life. In addition to LPs, Cassettes, and CDs, Silver Eagle also released videos. They established an office in the US at 4 Centre Drive, Orchard Park, NY (later, 777 N. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA), and often licensed product from the Special Products Divisions of the major record labels. They typically would pre-sell an album using 2-minute TV spots in stations across the country, then use that demand to place product in retail stores. They had their own manufacturing plant and distribution system, and according to LaBuick, sold many millions of albums. LaBuick later became head of the Music Division and Special Products Division of the major Quality Label in Canada. Note: All distributed by Silver Eagle unless noted otherwise.
