Letter of Intent of Lachlahn Dunbar and Lady Vienna Maria Della Rosa

Unto Their Majesties, Gilbert I and Bethony I, Their Highnesses ThorolfR and Halla, Their Excellencies Cormac and Elspeth, and the fair populace of Krae Glas, do Baron Lachlahn Ioseph of Dunbar and Lady Vienna Maria Della Rosa send greetings.

Please accept this letter as our request to be considered as candidates to become the second Baron and Baroness of Krae Glas.

It is wondrous to us both, how quickly these lands have become a home to us. We have found family amongst the people of this barony and it is these same people who inspire us to step up and serve this barony and to build upon the very fine foundations established by their Excellencies Cormac and Elspeth.

We believe that we possess a strong balance of experience and energy; one not as old he sounds and the other not as inexperienced as she looks.

Lachlahn with three years served as a landed baron and experience as a Baronial and Royal court herald, partnered with Vienna’s many years working closely with multiple Crowns and their local representatives, together we have a sound understanding of the responsibilities and obligations of landed .

In almost 20 years of participation in the Society, Lachlahn has served as a Baronial champion and held the Baronial offices of Seneschal, Constable and Herald. He has also run numerous events and led a household which received the Plumes of Aneala for service to their barony.

Far more talented than her , Vienna is an experienced feast-o-crat and passionate costumer, who since arriving Krae Glas has enjoyed helping newcomers make their first garb and working with them to develop their own skills and costuming .

One of the strengths of Krae Glas as it stands today is that it is a young and stable group jam packed with colourful personalities who work for each other and for their kingdom. It is the feeling of family, community and social inclusion that make Krae Glas strong, and the envy of many other Baronies. It is indeed a fortunate time for whoever shall replace their esteemed Excellencies Cormac and Elspeth.

With such solid foundations it shall fall upon their replacements to build and develop this culture into a Barony of great renown. It is with this in mind that we have identified the following ambitions:

 To increase the frequency and prestige of armoured and rapier tournaments.  To build archery into a highly anticipated spectator and participant event.  To reinvigorate the champion selections, and support champions as leaders of their field.  To energise various guilds such as the brewers, cooks and scribes.  Dancing. Do we really need to elaborate?  To develop a court atmosphere the envy of Francis I.  To encourage the development of the arts through further recognition of achievement.  To beautify the barony with workshops focused on accessories and completing the look.  To actively support new ideas and initiatives from within the Barony.  To build key local events, like Day of Honour, to such status that they draw competitors and spectators from across Lochac.

There is little doubt the lands of Krae Glas will need defending from less virtuous neighbours at some point, which is great, because as a Baron, leading your guard in battle is an honour…and an absolute blast.

A Baron does not lead from the rear! Otherwise he would never have tales to tell, such as marching a 14 man Tudor army between two Viking armies and unfurling a “No Vikings” banner.

Speaking of Tudor, Krae Glas has its own unique personality and we would never dream of imposing our chosen styles onto others. As such, we would embark upon a new style (or styles) for our reign, not expected of others but on which a colourful court theme would be built. We have a few ideas which we look forward to exploring with you all soon. After all, when Krae Glas goes to war the guard should be attired both practically and suitably debonair.

We wish to serve as Baron and Baroness of Krae Glas, guiding gently, Mindful of its youth, respectful of its existing traditions, and excited by the journey ahead.

In service to Lochac, (recently verified as) the finest of all the Kingdoms of the known world, the present and future crowns and the society.

Lady Vienna Maria Della Rosa Baron Lachlahn Dunbar
