TTA PRESIDENT’S WELCOME On behalf of the Board and staff of Table Tennis Australia Ltd., I extend a very warm welcome to all players, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers, families and spectators to Stage 2 of the Australian Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games.
All event sponsors and partners are to be commended, namely the Host Venue, Croydon and Districts Table Tennis Association; the Official Major Sponsor, Uncle Pop; the Official Ball Sponsor and long-term TTA sponsor, Nittaku; Official Event Sponsors ACTTLA, The Sun Immigration, KABI, Mariners on the Waterfront, Mind Champs, Global Credit Fund, Global Trade, Event Master, Buyer Camp and The Banner Crew; plus our Official Broadcast Partner My Sport Live. We could not put the event together without you and we appreciate your generous support.
With Australia winning both the Women’s Teams and Men’s Teams event at the ITTF-Oceania Olympic Qualification Tournament in December 2019, it ensures that Australia has secured the maximum quota places for Tokyo. Stage 2 of the Australian Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games will see two women and two men earn the right to be nominated into the 2020 Australian Olympic Team, which is surely the ultimate prize for Australian table tennis players.
I wish all competitors the best of luck and I hope you achieve your goals. Whilst it is not possible for all players to progress, provided you play your best and conduct yourself in a sporting manner, then you are all winners. It will surely be a memorable event.
Mr. Jamie Olsen President – Table Tennis Australia Ltd.
