“Selencky Parsons is an award design led architectural prac�ce based in Brockley.

New Cross is an exci�ng and dynamic area, and from the outset we wanted to capture part of this spirit in our design for the project. In our approach to the homes, first and foremost we wanted to the maximise space and light, whilst also building upon the rich history of the proper- ty.

We loved the Victorian cra�smanship within the original house and wanted to build upon these with lots of bespoke joinery, high quality materials and hand-cra�ed details; whilst also upda�ng the buildings to suit the needs of modern lifestyles. We have also ensured the new homes green creden�als are up to scratch by adding high quality dou- ble-glazed windows, loads of new insula�on and photovoltaic panels on the roof.”

“Naomi and I have lived on St Dona�’s Road for over 12 years. What we loved about the street is that it’s so quiet and yet located so close to mul�ple excellent transport connec�ons into London and several great quality independent cafes and restaurants.

St Dona�’s Road is posi�oned on the border between New Cross and Brockley so whilst we benefited from the excellent transport connec- �ons of New Cross, we would o�en wander up into Brockley to go to one of the cafes or to the Brockley weekend food market. We also became regular customers at several great quality New Cross restaurants such as Meze Mangal and The Rose and it was nice having the Curzon cinema SAINT DONATT’S just 2 minutes’ walk away. On a weekend we would o�en walk down in HOUSE to Greenwich (about 25 minutes’ walk) or get a 5-minute bus ride up to Blackheath.

On a more prac�cal level, having unrestricted on street parking was helpful when having guests stay over and the large Sainsbury’s super- market at New Cross Gate was very convenient for us. Being at the start of the Overground line at New Cross meant a guaranteed seat on our journey to work each day.

St Dona�’s House is special to us and because we chose to develop the building it is important that the finish is fantas�c to ensure its future residents love it as much as we have. We have worked with talented local architects Selencky Parsons to design open plan living spaces that maximise space and light and to select high quality finishes and fi�ngs throughout. ”
