This evening, you will arrive Wuhan Tianhe International Airport off NH#937 at: 23:15. After disembarking please follow the signs to the Immigration. The Abercrombie and Kent representative is NOT allowed in these areas. After clearing immigration formalities, please follow the sign to the arrivals hall. You may take a complimentary baggage trolley and collect your own luggage off the carousel. Please then proceed through customs and go to the exit.

You will then be met by our representative who will be waiting for you, holding a yellow Abercrombie & Kent sign and transferred to hotel.

This morning, visit the University of Economics (A&K provides vehicle and guide only, the visit of University is under the group’s own arrangements).

This afternoon, you will visit the , which is the first of the three most famous towers in the south regions of the river; crowned the title of “Superb View of the World”, Yellow Crane Tower sits on the lofty Wuchang Snake Mountain. It overlooks the spectacular view of large landscape of Wuhan and Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, which connects the south and the north and turns a deep chasm into a thoroughfare.

This afternoon, you will visit to the which is located in the beautiful coast where a large number of precious collection are kept, such as world famous Zenghouyi bell, Goujian sward, Fuchai spear, and other more than 20 million historical relics. Followed by a visit to Hubei Museum of Art which just adjacent to the Provincial Museum.

This morning, you will visit to Lake Moshan - stroll along the Yunmeng river, Qu Yuan sculpture, feel the charm of the city with 100 or so lakes.

After lunch, transfer back to hotel for freshen up.

This evening, you will attend the Alumni Banquet (A&K provides vehicle and guide only, the banquet is under the group’s own arrangements).

Afterwards, you will transfer back to hotel.

This morning, transfer to Wuchang Station for your first class bullet train D#5716 to Yichang at 12:30

* There is no porter service at the Wuchang and Yichang train stations, and the clients have to carry their own luggage from the vehicle to the platform until onto the train, and vice versa.

Arrive Yichang East Station at 14:46, you will be met and commence sightseeing to Dam Project (to be accompanied by a dam site professor – to be quoted separately) was started in 1992 and was completed in 2009. To date, the dam is the largest dam on earth, generating 18,200 megawatts of hydroelectricity (almost 50% more than the world’s current largest dam, the Itaipu Dam in Brazil and Paraguay). The dam has a length of 1.2 miles and measures 600 feet (185 meters) in height. The dam has 26 generators that generate enough clean energy to reduce China’s reliance of highly polluting coal by up to 50 million tons annually. The dam has submerged 13 cities, 140 towns, 1,352 villages and over 600 industrial factories not to mention the more than 1,200 archeological projects and the 1.2 million people that resettled as a result of the flooding.

Then, visit the construction survey point - Tanzi Ling scenic spot - climb and overlook the whole view of the dam, the steeply “Three Gorges fourth sea” - two-five locks.

This morning, you will visit to the Qingjiang Gallery scenic area - view the river dam over the bank; walk the Tu (a minority) Wind and Rain Corridor, feel the Tu percussion music, go through the time tunnel, and stroll the Tu style street.

Then, get on a cruise (share basis) to view the Qingjiang scenery - WuluoZhongli Mountain. Along the cruise route there are beautiful views such as: Qingjiang small Three Gorge, 20 degrees morth latitude islands, the general’s island, Pingluo lake, fairy peak, lying Foshan, and other attractions.

Then explore Wuluozhongli Mountain: the temple, stone altar, goodness statue, baihu Tang, sorship Tujia ancestor temple and more.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, return to the Qingjiang Pier, and back to the Yichang East Station with for your first class bullet train D#5724 to Wuhan at 18:43.

This morning, you will be transferred to Station for your first class bullet train G#508 to Beijing at 07.08.

* Porter service at Beijing West station is included, but there is no porter service available at the Hankou Station, i.e. the clients have to carry their own luggage from the vehicle to the platform on their own.

Arrive Beijing West Train Station at 12.29, you will be met and transferred to Jin Ding Xuan Restaurant for lunch.

Continue on to visit the Dazhalan Market Area. Also known as “The Great Fence”, as during the Ming era, the Dazhalan gate was lowered each night to enforce a curfew. The area around the gate has closely packed lanes, which was once filled with merchants, eateries, teahouses, wine shops theatres and more. Today, Dazhalan Street, only 270 meters long and nine meters wide, has 37 shops and service establishments. These traditional shops and crowded alleyways make Dazhalan one of Beijing’s most interesting commercial areas.

This afternoon, visit to the Olympic Site: Beijing National Stadium - also known as “The Bird's Nest”, which was the main track and field stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics and hosted the Opening and Closing ceremonies (exterior visit only).

Continue on to the National Aquatics Centre, known as “The Water Cube”. This dramatic exciting venue housed the water events for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 (exterior visit only).

After sightseeing, transfer to hotel to check in.

This evening, visit the night market at Wangfujing Dajie. Enjoy a walking tour of the biggest shopping street in Beijing.

Wednesday, 16 November 2016 B - L - D Beijing

This morning, visit the Temple of Heaven, a perfection of Ming architecture and one of the symbols of Beijing. Built in 1420, this huge site (twice the size of the ) follows a route traversed by past emperors and their entourages in splendid procession from which the commoner had to avert his eyes. The emperors came to the Temple of Heaven during the winter solstice to offer sacrifices to Heaven and pray for bountiful harvests - momentous occasions for which the temple's beauty and simplicity provided a fitting background. Many local people find the lovely setting an ideal place to practice Tai Chi and ballroom dancing. As you stroll through the grounds, you will have an opportunity to join the early morning exercises (with a private lesson from a Tai Chi Master – to be quoted separately).

Then, visit the lovely in the northwest of Beijing. Created, as a summer resort for the imperial emperors during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Summer Palace is an idyllic place to enjoy a scenic stroll. You will also enjoy the boat ride (share basis, private boat supplement – to be quoted separately) on Lake .

This afternoon, proceed to the Forbidden City, Center of the Chinese world for nearly 500 years, the imperial palace remains the most complete and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. Called the "Forbidden City" for the exclusive nature of the emperors who built and inhabited it, the palace is a vast complex of halls, pavilions, courtyards and walls. It was within these walls that 24 emperors of two dynasties, aided by their ministers, eunuch guards, concubines and servants, acted out the drama of ruling imperial China from the early in 1420 to the fall of the in 1911. (Special access to a closed hall visit – to be quoted separately).

Stop at Tiananmen Square for a stroll on the largest public plaza on earth. Lying in the center of Beijing, Tiananmen Square is thought of as the very heart of the city. The square, in spite of its past events, remains one of the most popular venues in Beijing. Here, on any given day, thousands of visitors gather to walk, fly kites, or enjoy the view of the monuments that surround the square.

This morning, you will be driven to the Great Wall at the Mutianyu site. You will have a cable car ride up & down the Wall. The Wall has been built up in myth and legend, but despite the many inaccuracies written, it remains one of the great man-made wonders of the world. The Great Wall rides some of the highest peaks of the Yan Mountains affording some stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Originally built to guard strategic passes to the plains on which Beijing is located, the magnificent vistas and solitary setting here evoke the grandeur and dazzling achievement of 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

This afternoon, you will also visit the Changling Mausoleum, which houses a collection of funerary objects discovered by archeologists in the 1950s. These were removed from the tomb of the emperor, Wan Li (ruled 1573 – 1620) and placed on view in this mausoleum. The objects are dazzling and include gold and silver eating utensils, jade, and precious jewelry, gold and silver ingots, armor, royal headgear and the exquisite dragon robes (those on view are reproduction garments as the originals were badly deteriorated).
