Day 1 : BAGAN - EMBARKATION (-/L/D)

Check-in at Taung Be village in Bagan. After lunch on board, head ashore to visit the majestic Ananda Temple. Originally constructed in 1090, it remains a popular place for prayer and reflection. Take a short walk to 12th century Thatbyinnyu, one of Bagan's tallest pagodas, and explore a smaller temple by torchlight. Break away from the temples cape to visit a renowned lacquerware workshop nearby, where the owner explains his crafts. Gather to watch sunset across the temple-topped plains before proceeding to a small riverside pagoda for an exclusive candle-lighting ceremony. Overnight on board

Day 2 : BAGAN (B/L/D)

After breakfast, choose from several morning tours of Bagan. Soar into sunrise with a breath-taking hot air balloon ride over Bagan, or enjoy a short walk to nearby farmland. Visit the ornate Sulamani temple, a beautifully constructed pagoda with intricate carving and brickwork. A cycle tour or a horse cart ride provide the option to explore the national park at your own pace. Alternatively, join our resident physician Dr Hla Tun to visit Belmond's Free Health Clinic, just a few steps from the jetty, and learn about our variety of social contribution projects. Transfer to the ship as you set sail along the mighty Ayeyarwaddy. Slip away to the spa for a relaxing treatment, or take a cooling dip in the pool. Browse a local art exhibition hosted, and join longyi and Thanaka demonstrations. Lunch is followed by afternoon tea. As evening arrives, you will be invited to a longyi cocktail party followed by a gastronomic feast for dinner. Overnight on board

Day 3 : MYIN MU (B/L/D)

Arrive in Myin Mu this morning. Board a fleet of trishaws and enjoy the enchanting city tour which boasts a vibrant local market, colourful tea shops and the friendly local people. Learn about thriving local industries at a bamboo weavers compound and a slipper workshop. Lunch is served back on board before an afternoon tour to Alacapa, a farming village with a wealth of crafting heritage. Alacapa boasts various pottery and agricultural industries. The lifestyle has remained unchanged for centuries. A sumptuous dinner is served in the restaurant this evening, before traditional entertainment draws the day to a close. Overnight on board

Day 4 : MONYWA (B/L/D)

Travel north to the Chindwin River this morning, leading to the little-known region of Monywa where giant Buddha's rise into the sky. Marvel at the world's tallest Standing Buddha and the giant Reclining Buddha. Continue to the vibrant Thanbuddhay Temple, colourful and decorative on the outside and peacefully calm on the inside. Around half a million Buddha facades gaze at you from carved niches throughout the interior. After, visit a small Thanaka market, where local vendors sell the wood and grinding stones for this popular cosmetic. Savour a delicious meal at a nearby restaurant before returning to the ship for a leisurely afternoon. Tonight, chef prepares a sumptuous farewell dinner for your final evening on cruise. Day 5 : MANDALAY - AMARAPURA - SAGAING (B/L/D)

Delve into Mandalay city to explore some of its greatest treasures, including the UNESCO-listed Kuthodaw Pagoda and the former living quarters of King Mindon at Shwenandaw. Savour local flavours and traditional dishes with lunch at a restaurant in the city.

Your guides present two tour options for the afternoon. Discover the artisanal heart of the city with a visit to the marble quarter and a bronze casting workshop, before soaking up the breath-taking beauty of the iconic U Bein Bridge. Retreat to the Sagaing Hills and visit a hilltop nunnery before re-joining the ship. Alternatively, head to Mandalay's Htin-Win Jetty with your guide and take a chartered riverboat. Savour champagne and refreshments as you cruise down river to Myin Mu. Overnight on board

Day 6 : SAILING (B/L/D)

A leisurely day of sailing lies ahead. Enjoy an array of on-board activities including a community presentation from Dr Tun. Alternatively indulge in a spa treatment, or relax by the pool as you sail past the terracotta pots at Yandabo. In 1826, the treaty of Yandabo was signed here between the Kingdom of Ava and the invading colonial British. Today the town is famed for its pottery, often spotted drying out on the riverbanks. Day 7 : BAGAN (B/L/D)

Sunrise yoga session on the Observation Deck before breakfast. As you sail into Bagan, you will witness fisherman casting their nets on the riverbanks and gilded pagodas rising in the distance. Upon arrival, disembark to explore some of the temples with your guide. Next, head to a secluded village to meet the locals and learn about their way of life. Alternatively, delve into local culture and learn about the town's cottage industries. You might want to join a temple meditation session in the cool depths of a nearby pagoda. You may also wish to join Dr Hla Tun to participate in a variety of social contribution projects at the cruise free health clinic. Visit the intriguing Nagayon and Seinnyet temples.
