You must be competent in the knowledge and skills required to do your job effectively. And you must take the proper action to accomplish your mission based on what your character tells you is ethically right and appropriate. This philosophy of Be, Know, Do forms the foundation of all that will follow in your career as an officer and leader. The Be, Know, Do philosophy applies to all Soldiers, no matter what Army branch, rank, background, or gender. SGT Leigh Ann Hester, a National Guard military police officer, proved this in Iraq and became the first female Soldier to win the Silver Star since World War II. Silver Star Leadership SGT Leigh Ann Hester of the 617th Military Police Company, a National Guard unit out of Richmond, Ky., received the Silver Star, along with two other members of her unit, for their actions during an enemy ambush on their convoy. -

He earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts with highest distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He was a fellow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI program. VADM Fritz Roegge, NDU President (Photo His sea tours include USS Whale (SSN 638), USS by NDU AV) Florida (SSBN 728) (Blue), USS Key West (SSN 722) and command of USS Connecticut (SSN 22). His major command tour was as commodore of Submarine Squadron 22 with additional duty as commanding officer, Naval Support Activity La Maddalena, Italy. This document clarifies and updates the AFSOC command and control system as well as increases the readability, adds (T-0) annotations, and changes AFI to an AFSOC Manual. This manual provides general guidance on the presentation of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) active duty forces and AFSOC gained Air Reserve Component (ARC) forces consisting of the Air National Guard (ANG) and the US Air Force Reserve (USAFR). It identifies command relationships, missions, functions, and responsibilities for AFSOC and its components. This guidance applies to all AFSOC units, to include Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) units when mobilized. This instruction does not apply to the Civil Air Patrol. See Attachment 1, for abbreviations used in this instruction. This publication may not be supplemented or further implemented. According to the department, the New Jersey National Guard has mobilized 16,000 troops since September 11, 2001. Many of these soldiers have been deployed multiple times. Specifically, in September 2008, approximately half of the New Jersey National Guard was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This was the largest single deployment of the New Jersey National Guard since World War II, comprising 2,875 soldiers of the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat team, a Military Police Company, and Water Purification and Chemical Units. • Question: Please provide an overview of the role the New Jersey National Army Guard and the New Jersey National Air Guard has played in supporting the war efforts since September 11, 2001 and the accomplishments of the units deployed. Please provide a chart showing the operations, the missions, the number deployed, and the number of New Jersey National Guard Army and Airmen still deployed. What percentage of the force is currently available for mobilization? Since September 11, 2001, the New Jersey Air National Guard has deployed 8,623 Airmen while the New Jersey Army National Guard has activated and deployed 11,508 Soldiers in support of contingency operations around the globe. The Air National Guard has flown more than 9,000 sorties equaling more than 35,000 flight hours. 84.5% of Soldiers and Airmen are available for mobilization. Anthony Zissimos, Commander, 140th Cyber Operations Squadron Check out any news website and chances are there is an article about how a major corporation has been hacked and mil- lions of users’ information has been compromised. This is the world we are living in and it’s not just restricted to the civilian sector. How many of you were caught up in the Office of Personnel Management data exfiltration last year? I was one of the people affected by that and at least two other data exfiltrations. These breaches are only the tip of the iceberg, but they give you a glimpse of the intentions of nations, terrorists, organized crime, and individual hackers using ever increasingly sophisticated tactics. What is the Department of Defense doing about this? United States Cyber Command is standing up its Cyber Mission Forces in the form of 133 teams to fight the cyber threat. The 140th Cyber Operations Squadron is one of the 12 Air Na- tional Guard Cyber Protection Teams that defend networks and systems against threats. The Air National Guard began fielding these forces on April 1, 2016 with the first ever cyber warfare mobilizations, an Air Force Space Command first. The first two squadrons to mobilize in support of our Cyber Air Expeditionary Force were the 262nd the Washington Air National Guard and the 261st with the Cali- fornia Air National Guard. The 140th is scheduled to mobilize in October 2017 and take its place on the front line defending DOD and Air Force assets against adversaries.
