Presidents Trumpet January 2019 Greetings all

Hope your holidays have been relaxing. Who am I kidding, Christmas time is never relaxing. Just drink more eggnog and push through. I needed some hard eggnog this holiday season. A couple of days before Christmas our wash machine decided to not retain water. Instead decided that my garage floor was a good place for it. It also made bad jet engine noise while dumping water on garage floor. Did you know a place like Home Depot does not stock washing machines in the back of the store, well nether did I. After waiting a week we received our purchase, everything is good. No it was not. Two days later the water heated stopped producing hot water. Found that out late on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to get it fixed, a little lighter in the wallet. It is amazing how having hot water affects ones emotional state. All in all it has been a good holiday season, thank you football, and looking forward to a busy and exciting 2019.

On a practical note, party balloons are not a substitute for your cars airbag, Ping pong Address: City: State: Zip: NTOC Membership # if renewal balls can raise a sunken boat, and if you are ever involved in trench warfare make sure to dig your trench with sharp corners. The NTOC Spark Plug award this year went to Gary and Liz Thompson for their sup- port of the annual charity raffle. Gary and Liz work very hard to encourage local busi- nesses to donate gift certificates for dinners and other items that are popular items in the raffle. A special thank you to all of the awardees as you are the type of members who make NTOC the special organization it is. Gift Exchange: This year there seemed to be more items that wound up “frozen” than I can remember in the past. (Special notation is that the picture of Gene from the 1999 OCA Nationals was reclaimed {again this year} by Gene and it will be retired.) Most unusual item this year was a motion activated toilet light. Not sure who wound up with it, but it did draw some interest.

2019 NAOC Joint event with NTOC Zone Show - June 2019 ONLY Five (5) MONTHS AWAY Harat held a brief meeting to provide details that have been finalized for the joint NAOC/NTOC event. Registration forms for both events are scheduled to be avail- able by the end of December. The NAOC registration form will be in the Runabout to Rockets Magazine in January. (By the way our own Brad Bishop will be the new editor for the NAOC magazine) Congratulations to both NAOC and Brad. The plans for a Thursday visit to the Sam Pack Car Museum has been cancelled and re- placed by a bus trip to the Horton Car Museum in Nocona, TX. The museum displays over 135 classic cars including 32 Corvettes. This tour will include a lunch. Also on Thursday a bus tour to Waco to see the popular TV series Magnolia location will be available. This tour was requested by several individuals at the 2108 NAOC Nationals. Friday will be a day for the NAOC Board to meet and for the NAOC Membership Meeting. There are no scheduled tours or activities so attendees will have free time to go to local attractions individually. Options include, the Sixth Floor Museum, the Perot Science Museum, the President George Bush Library, or shopping at the Galleria or North Park malls. Judging will be held on Saturday for both the NAOC and NTOC events. Harat is working on announcements in the NAOC and OCA magazines as well as the Old Car Weekly Magazine and the Addison, TX Visitors Bureau publication that is provided to every hotel in the area. She is also working to see if the event can be featured in the Texas Highway and AAA publications. There are also plans for the traditional NTOC Hospitality Room for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so we will be looking for some volunteers to help man that room.
