DBF SARAH T. HUGHES DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS: $2,670,030 1981- Fall 2020 Awarded to outstanding minority students attending SMU Dedman School of Law. The Hughes Scholars plan to practice in the Dallas community upon graduation from law school. The proceeds from "Bar None" have been the main source of funding for these scholarships.

In 2011, a new annual event titled "An Evening With..." was initiated as an additional fund-raiser for the scholarships.

In 2015, the scholarship became available to students at UNT Dallas College of Law and Texas A&M University School of Law.

DBF COLLINS CLERKSHIPS: $630,592 Annual Grant through 2019 for Dallas Bar Foundation Collins Clerkship Program which provides a six week, paid summer clerkship for minority law school students. Clerkships are provided at: the Supreme Court of Texas; Fifth District Court of Appeals; 14th Civil District Court; 68th Civil District Court; Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, City of Dallas Attorney’s office; City of Irving Attorney's Office; Dallas County Public Defender’s Office.

DON C. MCCLEARY – GARDERE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: $62,500 Awarded for the first time in 2008 to an SMU Dedman School of Law 2L student with high academic achievement and demonstrated leadership qualities in memory of Don McCleary. The scholarship was established by the lawyers at Gardere.

DBF JUSTICE JAMES A. BAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: $45,260 Awarded, in honor of former Supreme Court Justice Baker, to an outstanding law student for a clerkship at the Supreme Court of Texas under the guidance of the Chief Justice. Established by the Dallas Bar Foundation in 2008 upon the passing of Justice Baker during his service as the Chair of the Dallas Bar Foundation Fellows. The clerkship was presented for the first time in 2009 by Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson.

DBF BOB MOW JUDICIAL INTERNSHIP: $13,200 Awarded for the first time in 2016, in honor of Bob Mow, a Dallas Bar Foundation Fellows Award recipient, to an outstanding 2L student for a six week summer internship at the United States District Court of the Northern District of Texas.

STEPHEN PHILBIN FELLOWSHIP IN MEDIA LAW: $13,200 Awarded for the first time in 2016 to a 1L student with an interest in media law with high academic achievements. The law student splits their six-week summer fellowship between the Dallas Morning News and Jackson Walker LLP. Established by Susan Philbin in 2016. DBF CHIEF JUSTICE CAROLYN WRIGHT- INTERNSHIP: $3,300 Established by the Dallas Bar Foundation and awarded for the first time to a 2L minority law student in 2020, in honor of Chief Justice Carolyn Wright’s service at the Fifth District Court of Appeals at Dallas. Justice Wright served as a mentor for minority law students receiving a DBF Collins Clerkship at the Fifth District Court of Appeals for over 15 years. The internship at the Fifth District Court of Appeals is awarded annually to a minority 2L who plans to remain in Dallas upon graduation.

JUDGE NIKKI DESHAZO AND EDWARD SMITH PROBATE CLERKSHIPS: $73,622.50 Awarded for the first time in 2016 to law students from the three area law schools who have an interest in a clerkship position, during the Fall and Spring Semesters, under the mentorship of a Dallas County Probate Court Judge.
