DAF 1999 i tal FORSIDE: Wilson Kipketer, SPARTA var igen i 1999 tilbage i den rolle, han havde i 1997. Kun 1 nederlag i 13 "finaler'' blev det til. Det blev også til jackpot i "IAAF's Golden League Meetings", (500.000 USD). Millionen måtte Wilson dele med Gabriela Szabo, ROM. Det blev også til en forbedring af den danske juniorrekord på 6 cm til nu 7,56m. Nu gælder det den danske seniorrekord. {EL) 4 Forord Hvad bragte 1999 dansk atletik ? Wilson Kipkeler var tilbage i næsten den form, vi kendte fra 1997. Det resultere de da også i et nyt verdensmesterskab på 800m udendørs, forøvrigt det tredje i træk. Indendørs blev til til sølv i Japan. Wilson modtog også DAF's anerkendelse i form af "den gyldne puma", for årets største præstation. Hos kvinderne gik hæderen ikke ufortjent til Heidi Jensen. Hun har som få satset på atletikken; selv om fødselsattesten siger 1966 leverede Heidi varen ved VM i Sevilla. Synd hvis hun ikke opnår karrierens største mål, deltagelse ved OL. En del af de aktive i DAF's elite løb ind i skader i løbet af året.
