Zable Stadium. The focal point of the plaza is a 7-by-5-foot bronze griffin sculpture, resting on a 6-foot-high concrete and brick plinth. The statue, which was purchased at auction with private funds via the Tribe Club, is a replica of a pair of bronze statues cast in 1861 to adorn a palace in Berlin, Germany. (hereinafter CME; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Sadahiko Hirose) today gives notice that it has issued its consolidated business results indicating the Company’s overall performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2008 (FY 2007 Q1; April 1 ~ June 30, 2007). During the quarter under review, our sales were higher than in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, led by the digital business, which recorded a 20% increase. However, as the result of an 802 million reduction in sales booked by the P&D business according to a change in the accounting procedure from a total sales method to a handling fee method, and also because there were no hits of comparable size to those of the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, the Company’s consolidated sales totaled 4,406 million yen (a decline of 22.2% compared with the same quarter of the previous fiscal year). Moving on to the profit and loss situation, although total sales declined, the gross margin profit rate rose by 9.3 points to 45.4%. In addition, advertising expenses and general administrative expenses declined, resulting in a major improvement compared our performance for the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The ordinary loss for the quarter under review was 50 million yen (compared with a loss of 200 million yen for the same quarter of the previous fiscal year).

    BIOGRAPHY: Michael “Pinball” Clemons Canadian Football Hall-of-Famer | Founder, Pinball Clemons Foundation Few people exemplify the qualities of personal excellence, teamwork, community leadership, and overcoming the odds better than CFL legend Michael “Pinball” Clemons. With boundless energy, Pinball’s talks centre on the potential for each of us to achieve anything we set our minds to. Unabashedly emotional and impactful, he shows audiences how to put heart into everything they do. Pinball joined the National Football League in 1987, and the Toronto Argonauts (and the CFL) in 1989. He was nicknamed “Pinball” because of his running style: his diminutive size and extraordinary balance allowed him to “bounce” between defensive players, drawing comparisons to a pinball machine. In 1990, he was honoured with the CFL’s “most outstanding player” award, after setting the single-season record for all-purpose yards. He played his last game as an Argonaut in 2000, before becoming head coach of the team. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2008 and in 2016, Pinball was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. In 2007, Pinball stepped down as head coach to become the Chief Executive Officer; in 2009, he was appointed to Vice-Chair of the team (he has since left the position). That same year, he founded the Michael “Pinball” Clemons Foundation, which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth. He is also currently working with Marc and Craig Kielburger, founders of Free the Children, in an initiative to build schools and clean water systems in Africa. Pinball is a member of The Order of Ontario and a Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient.
