Step 2- Wrap your white thread around your four fingers 10 x the amount of flowers you are making. Example: For 6 flowers, wrap around 60 times. Cut the loops on both ends to create strands measuring (3") long.

Step 3- Add 1 strand of white thread in each st across to create fringes. After adding all fringes, add a 5" piece of 24 gauge wire through the end on the bottom right side of the row. Bend the wire down evenly.

Step 4- Roll the piece together with the wire going to the left, adding glue in between each roll to keep it in place. Cut the fringes to 1/2" and spray the fringes with Mod Podge/water mixture or fabric stiffener.

You want to make sure the strands are pressed up against each other as seen in the first image.

Step 5- Once the stamens have dried completely, pour out a heap of bright yellow paint and very lightly, dip the stamen tips into the paint. Repeat for each stamen piece. Set them aside to dry in an upright position.

We'll be creating the inner petals using strands to represent the tiny petals. Make 1 piece per flower.

Step 1- Using your white thread, ch 6. Make a sl st into the last ch from the hook to form a ring. Fasten off your thread.

Step 2- Wrap your white thread around your four fingers 5 x the amount of flowers you are making. Example: For 2 flowers, wrap around 10 times. Cut the loops on both ends to create strands measuring (3") long.

Step 3- Add 2 strands of white thread in each st around to create fringes. After adding all fringes, Lay the piece flat and spray with Mod Podge/water mixure. Let it sit to dry.

Delosperma Ice Plant ©Flawless Crochet Flowers 3 Adding Color To The Inner PetalsPumpkin Spice

We'll be adding color to the tip of the strands to bring the flower closer to reality.

Step 1- Your flower should already be completely dried before moving on to the next step. Once your pieces have dried, bring the fringes together and cut the fringes to 5/8". Squeeze out a little bit of yellow paint to use for all your inner petal pieces. Dip your tips into the paint. Repeat for all pieces. Set aside to dry completely.

Step 2- Squeeze out a sufficient amount of yellow paint to use for all your inner petal pieces and dip your strand tips into the paint. Do this for all your inner petal pieces.

Step 3- Set aside to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Delosperma Ice Plant ©Flawless Crochet Flowers 5 The Inner Petals Completing The Center

Step 1- Add a small dot of glue to the base underneath the stamen piece, and feed the wire ends into the center of your inner petal piece. Push the inner petal piece up against the glue.

Step 2- Add a ring around the lower part of the stamen piece. Squeeze your glue out very lightly. If you have the tendency to squeeze out heavily, I suggest you add 4 small dots evenly around the lower part of the stamen piece instead of adding the glue in one full ring.

Step 3- Pull the inner petal fringes up onto the glue. Be sure to press the fringes onto the glue at the lower part. You want just the bottom of the fringes to be glued down.

Step 4- Once the glue have dried, open out the top of

Let's put the leaves together!

You will be adding 2 leaves together in one round. This helps to add depth to the overall arrangement.

Step 1- Cut a 6" piece of 18 gauge wire for each leaf. Remember, two leaves equals one leaf.

Step 2- Glue only the base (foundation row) of two leaves together with the backside of the leaves facing each other. Push your 6" (18 gauge wire) through the bottom-right of the leaves, and bend the wire in half evenly.

Delosperma Ice Plant ©Flawless Crochet Flowers 21 Completing The Leaves Assembly

Step 3- Add 1 flower, placing it against the leaf wire. Place the flower stem half way down the leaf stem.

Step 4- Add glue and roll the leaves and the stems together. Continue to add two more flower stems evenly as you roll the leaves. Be sure to add glue in between rolling.

Step 5- Cut the stems down if needed. You want the bottom of the leaves to sit just below the vase rim. I highly recommend putting your flowers in a short vase.

Delosperma Ice Plant ©Flawless Crochet Flowers 22 Vase Assembly

Step 1- Cut floral foam or half of a foam ball that fits into the bottom of your vase with a little room around the ball.

Step 2- Place your flowers and leaves into the top center of the foam. Add glue around the edge of the underside of the half ball and place it into your vase. Press down to seal it, and cover the foam with stones.

You can always stick extra flowers or leaves into the foam.
