Investigation of the Behavior of the Cable-Stayed Bridge Under Test Load
GEOFIZIKA VOL. 28 2011 Professional paper UDC 550.8 Investigation of the behavior of the cable-stayed bridge under test load Rastislav Mandi}1, Gordana Had`i-Nikovi}2 and Stanko ]ori}1 1 Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia 2 Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, Serbia Received 25 March 2011, in final form 18 May 2011 A field load testing is an effective method for understanding the behavior and fundamental characteristics of cable-stayed bridges. This paper presents results of the behavior of the reconstructed cable-stayed bridge over river Dan- ube in Novi Sad under test load. The bridge was built between 1976 and 1981 and in 1999 was heavily damaged by two Tomahawk missiles. In 2003 process of the reconstruction began and at the end of 2005 Faculty of Civil Engi- neering, University of Belgrade was invited to test reconstructed bridge struc- ture. The results of static load testing presented herein include displacements, rotations and strains of the 351 m long main span. Vibrations of the bridge were obtained by impact load produced by heavy truck passing the bridge and the time history response of vertical accelerations was recorded. The frequency content of the signals was determined using Fourier transformation and five flexural natural periods were extracted. The geological structure and engineer- ing properties of the soil are also given. A finite element model of the bridge was made and a good agreement is achieved between the experimental and an- alytical results. These results have shown that the bridge is in the elastic state under the code-specified serviceability load, which indicates that the bridge has adequate load-carrying capacity and can be put safely into service. -

Even though there was neither a provisional nor a permanent constitution of the newly-formed state, factually there was a state as well as a system of governance, represented by supreme bodies, the King and the Parliament. Many draft constitutions were prepared by different political parties and notable individu- als. We shall focus on the official Draft Constitution prepared during the premiership of Stojan Protić. He appointed the Drafting Committee as a governmental (multi-ethnic) advisory team of prominent legal experts from different parts of the new state consist- ing of Professors Slobodan Jovanović (President), Kosta Kumanudi and Lazar Marković (Serbia), Professor Ladislav Polić (Croatia) and Dr Bogumil Vošnjak (Slovenia). After two months of work, the Committee submitted its draft to the Prime Minister. The leading Serbian legal scholar and president of the committee, Slobodan Jovanović (1869–1958), was well-acquainted with the details of Austro-Hungarian and German legal traditions. Since he was an active participant and witness of the events that led to the creation of the new state, while also being an objective and critical historian, it is important to shed light on his firsthand account of the emergence of the state of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. -

International Journal of Bridge Engineering (IJBE), Vol. 3, No. 1, (2015), pp. 65-74 REALIZATION OF NEW SAVA RIVER CROSSING IN BELGRADE (SERBIA) Bratislav Stipanic1 and Nikola Hajdin2 1 University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Serbia 2 Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbia e-mail: [email protected], [email protected] ABSTRACT: The paper deals with the realization of Sava River Crossing with its approach bridges as first section of Belgrade Inner City Semi-Ring Road (ICSRR). The Sava River Crossing, as the first section of the ICSSR Project (with overall length of 17,5 km), consists of the main bridge across Sava River and so-called South Approach Roads (SAR) and North Approach Roads (NAR). The Ada Bridge carries 6 lanes of vehicular traffic, 2 rail tracks for LRT (future Belgrade metro BGM) and 2 lanes of pedestrian/cycle-way. The bridge has total length of 967 m and 43500 m² bridge deck area. SAR contains altogether 22 bridges (viaducts and ramps) with overall length of 3350 m and 36700 m² bridge deck area. NAR contains altogether 19 bridges (viaducts and ramps) with overall length of 2830 m and 36300 m² bridge deck area. The new Sava River Crossing with its approach bridges is a major infrastructure project realized in Belgrade last years that significantly effects to the reduction of traffic jams of vehicular traffic in the city. Sava River crossing with its approach bridges was completed for roadway traffic by start 2014. KEY WORDS: Bridge design; Bridge construction; Roadway bridges. 1 INTRODUCTION In order to reduce traffic congestion in Belgrade city and increase the capacity of the network, it was constructed Sava River Crossing with its approach bridges. -
