RECENT GAMES: BEARS vs. OLD DOMINION - - (December 13, 2003, Norfolk, VA) Trailing by only three after a sloppy first half, Morgan State’s offense stalled as Old Dominion used its defense to take command and cruise to a 77-62 victory over the Bears on Saturday night at Ted Constant Convocation Cen- ter. Morgan State’s Cedrick Barrow knocked down two free throws to help pull the Bears to within two, 28-26, with just under five minutes left to go in the half, but once again ODU came back with a run of its own as they went on an 8-3 run to head into intermission up 34-31.At the start of the second half, Ron Timus converted a layup to cut ODU’s lead to one, 34-33. The Bears clawed their way back to cut the Monarch lead to just 13 points, 69-56, with 3:52 left in the game, but ODU once again pulled out to a 21-point, 77-56, lead with just over two minutes remaining in the half to put the game out of reach. Although the Morgan State finished with their best effort of the season from the line by converting 12-of-16 (75%), the ODU held the Bears to their lowest point total of the season (62).
