five night 4x4 tour

This tour is brought to you exclusively by Bonsai Technologies The 4x4 tour allows you access to remote areas in the Blouberg mountain range in that are not frequented by many visitors. The Nthubu Safari Camp (our first stop) provides visitors an extraordinarily tranquil experience in the Masebe Nature Reserve. We will go on a guided walk around the camp and visit an ancient bushman paintings site. There are no dangerous animals in the reserve. Then we visit the Blouberg African Ivory Route Camp (AIR) nestled in a secluded spot below the Blouberg Mountains from where we will take a short walk to beautiful rock pools. The ruins of the original Bochum Police Station (1800’s) will be visited. Our next stop is the Blouberg Nature Reserve. It harbours the biggest breeding colony of Cape Vultures in the world. The breeding colony hosts more than 1000 breeding pairs. You can view these birds at close range, either from below the breeding colony or at the vulture restaurant. Unique features are the tamboti woodland, fig forest, baobabs, the Brak River floodplain, prolific bird population, buffalo, , , , , leopard, , etc. The reserve is malaria free. The tour is a guided five night 4x4 adventure tour. A qualified 4x4 and overlanding adventure guide will lead the trail and will also assist with 4x4 aspects when necessary. This is an ideal opportunity to combine 4x4 travelling (in your own vehicle) and game viewing. The tour is aimed at true bush lovers and ones who enjoy the wilderness and is not designed as an obstacle course or endurance test. What is excluded? A stand-alone safari tent and thatched rondavel will be your private ablution for the nights at the Nthubu AIR and Blouberg AIR Camps respectively. There is no electricity at these camps. Paraffin or solar lanterns are provided for light at night. The water is safe to drink, but some people don’t like the taste of the local water, so you are advised to bring your own drinking water. The kitchen, dining and campfire facilities are communal. The campsite in the Blouberg Nature Reserve has common ablution facilities and is not fenced. No kitchen or electricity is available. Itinerary  Day 1 - Pretoria to Nthubu Safari Camp (on your own) (370 km). We meet at the Mokopane (Potgietersrus) off ramp from the N1 at 10:00 and depart for Ntubu at 10:30 (130 km).
