PROGRAMME EXPLANATION The Third SEAMEO RIHED-ACC Study Visit Programme to China on Foster Academic Collaboration and Exchange in Higher Education: Cultivate Innovative Talents in the field of Arts, Traditional Medicine, and Hospitality and Tourism 10-17 January 2016 Guangxi (Nanning & Guilin), P. R. China Acknowledgements This Programme is co-organized by SEAMEO RIHED and the ASEAN-China center. It is made possible through generous support of Education Department of Guangxi Autonomous Region Guangxi University, Guangxi Arts Institute, Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Guilin University of Technology, Guangxi Normal University and Guilin Tourism University. The Study Visit Programme is open to: 1. Ministerial High Officials (namely Directors General/ Secretary General/Commissioner and their Deputies of Higher Education) in Southeast Asia 2. University Presidents/Rectors/Chancellors and Vice Presidents/Chancellors in Southeast Asia 3. University Faculties assigned by University Presidents/Rectors/Chancellors in Southeast Asia Introduction With the success of the two previous Study Visit Programme to China, SEAMEO RIHED, in collaboration with the ASEAN-China Center (ACC) is organizing the 3rd activity from 10-17 January 2016, to visit Guangxi (Nanning & Guilin), P. R. China with the focus on the theme of Foster Academic Collaboration and Exchange in Higher Education. The Programme will provide participants with extensive opportunity to explore, discuss and exchange of innovative ideas and practices, to seek a networking and future academic collaboration in higher education, especially in the areas of Arts, Cultural Preservation and Heritage, Hospitality and Tourism. Included in the Study Visit An academic programme, which includes One Day Seminar “One Belt One Road”- Bridging Guangxi and ASEAN universities University visits Guangxi University Guangxi Arts Institute Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University Guangxi University for Nationalities Guilin University of Technology Guangxi Normal University Guilin Tourism University Cultural Visit in Guilin One-day trip through Lijiang River Cultural Performance “Impression Liu Sanjie” 7 nights’ single room accommodation (4 nights in Nanning and 3 nights in Guilin) Local Transportation by coach Bullet train (Nanning-Guilin) Meals City tours and cultural activities Programme materials and publications Programme management and support fees Registration Fee Registration fee is 1,500 USD /pax. The registration fee is a package rate and non-refundable. Payment must be made before the visit. Please note that all associated bank charges are to be borne by the participant. Upon issuance of confirmation note, no cancellation will be entertained. SEAMEO RIHED and ACC reserve the right to postpone or cancel the visit. Kindly make your payment to SEAMEO RIHED within one (1) week of sending in your registration form. If you would like to register but are required to wait for the official release of funds from your institution, please notify SEAMEO RIHED of your situation and submit your registration as soon as possible in order to reserve your place. Number of Participants & Quota Allocation The total number of participants in the third SEAMEO RIHED-ACC Study Visit Programme to China is limited to 25. In order to promote balanced regional representation, a quota of NO more than THREE university executives from the same university will apply. Registration will be accepted on first-come-first-served basis. Registrations that exceed the stated quota allocation for each university will be placed on a waiting list in the event of cancellation. .
