Day 2 : Beijing In the morning, walk on Tian An Men Square (Dazhalan is Beijing's most ancient and famous downtown business area with its own unique style. Many shops and stores line along both sides of the narrow street. )before a visit of the Forbidden City (Known as the Imperial Palace Museum or Gugong, the Forbidden City was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties carried out their administration and lived. )And it’s Imperial Museum, the former residence of Ming and Qing dynasties. Accommodation at Hotel. Day 4 : Chengdu-Jinshanling-Chengdu Drive to Jinshanling Greatwall. Jinshangling Great Wall got its name for it was built on the bigger and the smaller Jinshan Mountains. The Jinshanling Great Wall was initially built from 1368BC to 1389BC in the Ming Dynasty, and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the Wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. Poems and tablet writings can be found on the Jinshanling. You can hike on Jinshanling Great Wall on by yourself about 2 hours, then the same way back to Jinshanling Great Wall. (the cable car is optional and can be arranged on spot).Later in the afternoon, drive back to Chengde. Accommodation at hotel. Day 5 : Chengdu-Beijing Departure Drive to visit Puning Temple. Punning Temple is also called Big Buddha Temple because of the big Buddha in it. The temple was built from the twentieth year to the twenty-third year of Emperor Qianlong in the style of the earliest monastery of the Tibetan Buddhism- Sanmoye Temple. It is of a gigantic scale and covers an area of 23,000 square meters. Inside the temple, there are gate hall, bell-drum tower and inscription pavilion. In the inscription pavilion stand the monuments of A Record of Puning Temple, A Record of Pacifying Other Tribes and A Record of Pacifying Their Descendents. Right behind the inscription pavilion are the Heaven King Palace and Daxingbao Palace. Continue to visit Putuozongshengmiao (Temple of Potakara Doctrine) (Built in 1771, the Putuo Zongcheng Temple is a most resplendent and sweeping one. It covers an area of 220,000 square meters, and is similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. This temple was built for celebrating the emperor Qianlong's birthday. Zang-style architectures are displayed thoroughly there. This temple was used to hold important religion ceremonies and for the emperors to interview the heads of the Minorities and some ministers in the past.)
