so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed (see Numbers 21: 21, 24, 34-35).

 Rahab was spared from the coming judgment of God (Joshua 6:22-25).

What We Learn from God in the Story of Rahab

 God shows His grace by including Rahab, a Gentile (Joshua 6:17).

 The Israelites were supposed to destroy all the inhabitants of the land God had promised (Nu. 33:50-52; Deut. 7:1-2).

 The boundary between Israel and Canaan was not drawn along ethnic lines but in terms of allegiance and faith in God. There was room for exceptions for people who came to genuine faith in God.

 God sends panic to the enemies of His people in Holy War (Joshua 5:1; 9:24; 10:2; Ex. 15:14-16; Dt. 2:25).

 God will still punish those who disobey Him (Joshua 6:16-19;7).

 The lineage of Jesus is comprised of men, women, adulterers, heroes, and Gentiles – and Jesus will be Savior of all (:5-6).
