FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nov. 4, 2003 Football Game Previews for Games of Nov. 8

DALLAS—Four weekends… That’s all that stands between Big 12 Conference football teams and the Dec. 6 Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship as well as bowl invitations on Sunday, Dec. 7. In between, however, are 19 conference games and tons of football as six current bowl eligible teams prepare for postseason activity and nearly-postessaon-eligible State (7-3). Kansas (5-4) also waits on the threshold of its first bowl trek since the 1995 Jeep Eagle Aloha Classic in Honolulu, Hawai’i, where the Jayhawks downed UCLA of the Pacific-10 Conference 51-30. Big 12 divisional races remain heated, too, as Nebraska (3-2) and Kansas State (3-2) remain atop the North Division with Missouri (2-2) looming one game behind in the win column. MU downed Nebraska 41-24 earlier in ’03 while K-State and Missouri tangle on Nov. 22. Oklahoma maintained a one-game lead over Texas in the Big 12 South at 5-0 in league play to the Longhorns’ 4-1. Four South Division teams—Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas Tech already have bowl eligibility. To add a bit more gravy, Oklahoma remains No. 1 in the Standings ahead of Big 12 powers Texas at No. 12, Nebraska at No. 18, Oklahoma State at No. 19, and Missouri at No. 24. The Big 12 and Big Ten Conferences lead all organizations with five representatives apiece in the Nov. 3 survey. Most of the nation will have front row seats for the developing drama in the conference race. A minimum of 11 network telecasts is on the slate for the Nov. 8-29 weekends, and the final three encounters prior to the title game are being televised by ABC. Colorado-Nebraska and Texas-Texas A&M are ABC national broadcasts on Nov. 28 while Iowa State at Missouri closes out the league’s round-robin schedule on Saturday, Nov. 29, at noon (CST) on ABC.
