The 2002 Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Purchasing Guide. This Publication introduction elcome to the 2002 Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Purchasing Guide. This publication represents the most comprehensive source of up-to-date information on natural gas W vehicles and engines available. As more customers look to purchase alternative fuel vehicles, major manufacturers are responding by offering an increasing number and variety of NGV options. The goal of this booklet is to match buyers with the right NGV for them. Inside these pages you’ll find light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, off-road vehicles, natural gas engines, upfit vehicles and natural gas hybrid vehicles, listed alphabetically by manufacturer. Many of these manufacturers have a long history of producing gasoline and diesel engines and/or vehicles and offer the same quality and reliability in their natural gas options. Each listing comes complete with contact information, model name and description, vehicle specifications and commercial status. This booklet was produced by the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition, the national voice for the NGV industry. The Coalition represents its members primarily in four areas - Government Affairs, Technology, PR/Communications and Market Development. The NGVC also acts as an information clearinghouse for members, and serves as an information and referral “first stop” on NGV industry issues and opportunities, helping members quickly respond to the changing business environment. tocable f ontents light-duty vehicles ......................................................................................... 3 medium- & heavy-duty vehicles ....................................................................... 4 off-road vehicles ........................................................................................... 10 engines ........................................................................................................ 11 upfit vehicles ................................................................................................ 14 natural gas hybrid vehicles ............................................................................. 14 product and company index ............................................................................ 16 2 Natural Gas Vehicle Purchasing Guide 2002 Manufacturer/Distributor Product Information Price American Honda Motor Co. Bendix (Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC and Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake LLC) is proud to work with school districts and vehicle manufacturers across North America in pursuit of safer student transportation as NAPT marks National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 21-25. The theme of this year’s National School Bus Safety Week is “My School Bus – The Safest Form of Student Transportation.” The theme reflects National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data showing that the classic yellow school bus is 70 times safer than walking, bicycling, or riding in a passenger car or light truck to and from school. “Even so, a single school bus collision is one too many,” said TJ Thomas, director of marketing and customer solutions – Controls, at Bendix, the North American leader in the development and manufacture of intelligent, integrated active safety, air management, and braking solutions for commercial vehicles. “Bendix and all its industry partners are working tirelessly to help keep student passengers safe, and to support the school bus drivers who oversee their daily travels.” -more- BENDIX EFFORTS SUPPORT MAKING SCHOOL BUSES EVEN SAFER Oct.
