Vice President Sales – Freightliner & Western Star Truck Brands (2009-2010) Drove truck sales (Class 6 to 8) activities to dealers, fleets and direct customers for Daimler’s North American Truck brands. • Directed and managed over 75 sales professionals with responsibility for direct customer negotiations and dealer transactions representing the majority of the company’s unit sales. • Successfully developed and implemented sales strategies and customer education during the US EPA mandated powertrain product rollout. President & General Manager (Freightliner/Daimler North American Used Truck Business) (2003-2009) Held full P&L responsibility for used truck operating division, retail sales locations, truck residual management as well as optimization of operating costs (storage, transportation and inspection process). • Responsible for setting residual values for used vehicles in conjunction with new truck customer sales contract negotiations. • Led diverse retail sales network of over 50 locations as well as managed used truck- refurbishing center resulting in the sale of over 13,000 used vehicles per year. • Managed the largest company-wide risk financial reserve for contingent liabilities related to vehicle residual value customer commitments. • Provided leadership in successful wind-down, closure, or sale of multiple locations necessary to meet overall company profit targets. • Built and maintained a cohesive team to work closely with new and used truck sales to ensure that operational plans were met within developed risk guidelines. Chief Financial Officer Orion Bus Industries (Daimler Bus) (2000-2003) Provided leadership over the treasury management, Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and financial controls for the transit bus operations purchased by Daimler in 2000. • Reorganized accounting, treasury, and IT functional areas resulting in a 15% cost savings. • Project director for Orion strategic turnaround plan that improved profitability by 30%. • Executive team member responsible for the development and execution of operational plans. • Developed and implemented new bid / costing procedures for contract management and analysis. • Integrated systems to improve controlling, decision-making, and sales management. • Managed IRS and Revenue Canada audit resulting in favorable tax treatment and transfer pricing. • Integrated business systems into the Daimler Global reporting procedures and policies.
